On this week's Sex and the City episode
I had a question about this week's TBS Sex and the City episode: yes, that is the last one - where Big comes to get Carrie in Paris.
Upon my second watching of this episode I noted a couple of neat things:
1. Notice what Big says in the "American Girl in Paris, Part One" (next-to-last) episode. When he comes to Carrie's apt. and she blows him off, she tells him that she is moving to Paris and he says something like, "when were you going to tell me?" If you have watched the early episodes, then you know that what broke Big and Carrie up when they were first together was his possible move to Paris, when the extent of his commitment phobia became evident. When Carrie finds out that he may be moving to Paris for some time with his job (which he ended up not doing), she asks him the exact same thing - "when were you going to tell me?"
It is, of course, also consequental, in my opinion, that Paris brings them back together, when it was originally what drove them apart.
2. I can't believe I didn't notice this the first time. At the end of the episode, when her phone rings, it says "John," then you hear Big's voice on the phone. His name is John. He becomes real.
