Environmental issues seem to be high fashion right now. In the cinemas they have been showing at least 3 documentaries (that I know of) on the subject, "The planet", "The inconvenient truth" and "Darwin's nightmare", and they haven't just been showing them at the small cinemas that usually show documentaries but at the larger more mainstream ones. And they'll also start showing a documentary series on tv in november made by the same ppl who made "The planet". I've seen all of the films now and I really liked them all. Very informative. But perhaps they should have had more focus on what ppl can do. Just hearing about how bad it is can be quite paralyzing and most ppl I think would like to do something but have no idea where to start. "The inconvenient truth" was I think the one out of the three that most gave advice on what one could do, however a lot of it was in text mixed in with the credits so if people don't notice those then they miss that. But I found all the films quite inspirational, and lately I really need that inspiration cause I'm feeling tired of studying. The other day I was surfing the net and found a game where you have to try to make and island more environmentally friendly by talking to the citizens building recycling stations etc and teaching ppl what to do with their waste etc. It was quite entertaining and informative. Probably a good way to get kids (well not just those who are kids cause of their age but those who are kids at heart ;) to learn more about helping the environment.
I got another batch of organic fruits and veggies yesterday. I love getting fresh and yummy stuff delivered to my door. I never know what I'll be getting and sometimes I get stuff I haven't tried before. I get to try new recipes :) Last night I made use of the fennel that they had sent me. I had only tasted fennel once before and wasn't really that impressed by it. But I thought I'd give it another chance. I made a dish with the fennel, onions, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and coconut cream that was absolutely delicious. I'll definitely make that again. Speaking of which I'm off to eat the left overs from last night :D If you're interested let me know and I can post the recipe.
