Yesterday was incredibly beautiful outside and the boys and I and Maria Jose and her friend Sylvia (who, Alison, reminds me a lot of Joan) and Sylvia's son Nicolas went to the park and played futbol and it was great. I love being outside! I want to have a picnic!
Some things which I am finding ridiculously hard to say in Spanish:
1. 'outside'. I don't think they have a word for this.
2. How do you describe someone as 'hot'? I don't think they have a word for that, either, which seems improbable.
3. There's no way to distinguish between something being 'pretty' and 'nice'.
Some things I have learned to say in Spanish which have made speaking much easier:
1. 'Well...'
2.'So...'
Who knew these words were so important.
I just read two books in a row about British lesbians growing up in religiously fundamentalist communities. This was an accident.
