“Jae!” someone called my name in the distance.

Shut up!

“Jae!” it called again.

I said shut up! Can’t you see I’m sleeping?

“Jae! Wake up already!”

“Aish! Fine fine! I’m awake… happy now?” I whined as I rubbed the sleepiness off my eyes. I looked up to see who woke me and pouted when I saw him… “Su…”

“Good morning, hyung…” he smiled widely at me, earning a smirk from me.

“You know I don’t like getting up early… especially on Saturdays!” I yelled.

“Sorry, hyung. I was just too excited to tell you something that I forgot about that,” he apologized, but I knew he was laughing inside.

I cocked my head to the side in confusion. “What is it?” I asked.

He smiled toothily at me, the kind that would always have me smile with him. He struggled with his pockets and got something with much difficulty on his part.

“What is it?!” I yelled. Junsu, on the other hand just brought a finger to his lips to silence me. “Yah!”

“Shut up, hyung! Why are you so impatient this morning?” he laughed. “Here,” Junsu handed me an envelope.

“What’s this?” I asked again.

“Open it… I got a leave of absence from the office… and Jihyeon and I thought that we should bring you and the kids back there…”

“Bring us back…?” I stared at Junsu, my hands busy with opening the envelope that he gave me. “Oh god! Junsu yah?! South Korea?! Are you sure?!”

“You like it?!”

“Are you kidding?! How would I not?!”

“Well then… get your passport and things ready! We’re going tomorrow!”

~***~

I couldn’t believe it. I was back in Korea. Seoul. The city I loved so much. The city where I met… oh god. I hope I wouldn’t see him while we’re here.

I decided to take a stroll with the kids. Junsu’s kids that is. That punk! I knew something was fishy when he said that they’d bring me along with them. Because they appointed me, Kim Jaejoong, as BABYSITTER. Funny, right? The single hyung would always be left behind, to tend for his dongsaeng’s children. Haha!

Okay, well, I decided to take them for a walk near the hotel where we were staying. I took them to the park, to see the view of this marvelous city in the afternoon, when the sun just started setting.

“You can’t catch me! Bleh!” the little girl shouted at her twin brother and ran as fast as she could, but she didn’t notice that there was a man in front of her who was looking the other way.

“Ouch!” they both cried.

“Oh!” I exclaimed. “I’m so sorry…” I said as I bowed to the man that my little niece bumped into.

“It’s-” he started. “Jaejoong?!”

I looked at the man in awe. “Yu-Yunho?!”

“Yeah… what are you doing here?” he replied.

“I-Junsu brought me and these kids here…but how come you’re in this place?! I mean-”

“We have a performance here… later in the evening… Min and Chun and I are going to perform… together… I’m just checking if everything’s ready.”

“Oh…still the leader huh?!”

“Nope…just doing my share of the bargain,” he said as he smiled at me sweetly.

When Yunho noticed that the children were then looking at him questioningly he kneeled on the ground to face them eye to eye.

“Hmmm… I’m Yunho… can I know your names?” he asked the two.

“I’m Suhyeon!” the little girl exclaimed.

“And I’m Junhyeon… nice to meet you mister,” he little boy said.

“Oh… nice to meet you, too, Junhyeon… and you, too, Suhyeon! What’s your mom’s name?” he asked curiously as he looked up at me again.

“Our mom’s name is Lee Jihyeon.”

“Lee Jihyeon?! I don’t think I know her… do I Jae?!” he asked, eyeing me rather suspiciously.

“Oh, you thought-?! They’re not MY children! They’re Junsu’s,” I tried to explain.

“Oh I see…” Yunho smiled again.

“Dadie…” it was Junhyeon, “I want some ice cream…”

“Ice cream?!” Yunho asked, “I know a place the serves great ice cream… can I get you some?”

The kids looked at each other and smiled. It seemed that they were talking to each other… silently.

“But only if you’re uncle says okay…” he added.

“Dadie… ice cream… please… please say yes…” they begged.

“Uhmmm… but you’re busy… we wouldn’t want to get on your way,” I hesitated.

“I’m not busy. I’m finished here… and I was actually thinking of eating ice cream myself… but it’s sad to eat alone…right children?” he winked at the twins.

“O-ok…”

“YEHEY!” Suhyeon and Junhyeon and Yunho all said simultaneously.

~***~

“Hey, mister…” it was Junhyeon.

“Yes?!” Yunho asked.

“Thank you!”

“You’re very much welcome!” he exclaimed as he handed the little child his ice cream.

“Yeah, thank you mister!” said Suhyeon.

“Why don’t you call me, TITO… mister sounds too old for me,” he smiled.

“What does tito mean here?” Suhyeon asked.

“In the Philippines, tito means uncle…” Junhyeon said.

“Hehe… you’re smart! Tito… IS uncle… it is the Filipino term for uncle…”

“OOOHHH! You speak Filipino?!”

“Just a little,” he showed them his pointer and thumb with a little distance between them to indicate what he meant. “I learned a little…”

“How come?!” the kids asked again.

“Well, it’s because… I had lived there. And as a matter of fact, I had a boyfriend there once,” he answered as he stared at me.

“Really? Where is he now? You two not together anymore? Do you still love him, tito?”

“Sshh! Kids, that’s enough… it’s none of our business if he had lived in the Philippines… and that he…” I reprimanded the two.

“Gwenchana…” Yunho interrupted. “He dumped me,” he said in reply to one of the kids’ questions.

“HUH?! WHY?! And what was he like, tito?” Suhyeon asked again.

“I don’t really know why… but one thing’s for sure… he IS the love of my life.”

“Ooh… that’s really sweet… you know, tito, dadie had a Korean boyfriend, too. But Junnie and I never met him. They broke up even before we were born. But he talks about him all the time! But not his name… I don’t think he ever mentioned his name to us. Just that he was great and that he loved him so much!” Suhyeon said proudly. I, on the other hand, was already red in the face due to embarrassment.

Yunho was watching me intently. And I returned his stare. Memories soared through my head as I did so. He was still very manly. Like when we were still together. His features hadn’t changed, even if I hadn’t seen him for five years, I was still familiar with every curve of that angelic face.

“Are you guys finished with your ice cream?” I asked, standing from my seat. “We should get going; your mom might get worried.”

“Finished!” the kids shouted.

And we trailed one by one outside the door. But I heard something that made me look behind us. Yunho ran to Suhyeon and whispered something in her ear, she replied in a whisper, too.

“Do you think your dadie… still loves him?”

“Yes, tito… I’m sure of it!”
