In which Impalas can be very angry... Among others. (helluvahunter)

It had been a long day. Not like any other days were shorter, but whenever they got nowhere with the case that they were working on, it always seemed longer. Whenever they were frustrated, it seemed that that was when they fought the most. It was just as well. Getting the day's frustrations out in banter seemed somewhat morbidly healthy for them. Dean had to agree that the night had gone a lot better than he thought it was going to. Considering their drastic personality differences, the fact that he got to teach her pool was nothing short of a miracle.

But he should have known the argument was going to happen. Hell, it had been almost three days without arguing, something was bound to come up. Because he had a lot of experience with alcohol, he was still mostly sober by the end of the night. Though he still acted more on the loose end with Buffy involved.

The hangover she had in the morning should have warned him that the day would be even longer than what was already predicted. Her mood didn't improve much, either.

Which worsened his mood.

This was the final straw in the long list of comments she had made all day. "Probably not. You would have bitched at them until they gave you information to get you the hell out."

Nice. Real nice. It was blistering hot outside so she took off the jacket that she had over the lighter shirt and threw it in the open window of the passenger's side of the impala. She gave herself A few seconds to pinch the bridge of her nose. It was an automatic reaction to try to calm the headache that had moved from her eyes all the way to the back of her head and back around to her temples. She'd like to think that most days passing off these types of comments from him were easy.

That was not today. That was definitely not today.

She pinched her nose a little harder at that thought and looked up.

"...I would have bitched? Right because that's my reaction to everything, I forgot. God, you know what? Even then we probably would have been better off." she crossed her arms. "Especially without your flirting with the dead girl's sister."

He jerked the door open with a sneer. "That's how you get information." He paused in climbing in the driver's side. "But of course you'd take that the wrong way, you take everything the wrong way!"

The whole blaming him for absolutely everything going wrong? Was not okay. Not today, anyway.

"It is your reaction to everything. Something goes wrong, first response for you is to complain about how wrong it's gone!" God, her talking was really getting on his nerves, a normally hard feat, but she managed it easily. One day, he'd find out how she did it so damn well.

As he jerked the door open she did the same, and sat down in the seat with close enough to a growl that she could get without actually growling. "Wow, and look at allllll the information we got. Gee, we're practically rolling in answers. My God, look at us, the case is solved."

Everything the wrong way, her butt. God.

"Oh. Yes. And what's the first thing you do, Dean? You blame me. I'm not the one who had this genius plan which by the way? Got us nowhere." Since she was a kid she'd always found solace in looking out the window when she was in an argument in a car. But this time her eyes remained on Dean.
