Apparently it's time to update.... :P
Indeed it is. Shiiitloads has happened in the 3 months since my last post, not the least of which, my love life.
12 days after my last LJ was posted, I began seeing Caroline. T'is a mighty long story but in a nutshell, I met her through Helena, had a crush on her for a while that I ended up telling Lena about one night, & she insisted I go for it. So I did - and we've been together ever since :D
So.... she lives in Putney, & before you go thinking oh yay FINALLY she scores a chick in Sydney.... she's from England & has not ruled out the possibility of going home to live! I can't win ;) However she's been living here since 2000. She's a little bit older than me, she's adorably Pommie (and annoyingly, of course ;) & has the prettiest voice in the whole world <3 <3 She's a Business Analyst for Telstra, she's very clever, I love how she thinks, & how she learns, and how she improves herself.... and unbelievably, she's an ENTJ like me (Myers-Briggs personality indicator, Jung-based).... we're the least common of all 16 personality types, only 2% of the world are ENTJ's, also known as Leaders! So it means we approach things & deal with things very similarly, and that works really well in our relationship because we egg each other on & pull each other forward all the time.
Again, like with Lena, we found each other at the exact right point in our lives - even 6 months ago had our paths crossed I wouldn't have been in the slightest bit interested in her, & vice versa, truly, we were such different people in very different places not so long ago. But we met at the perfect junction. And our relationship is beautiful because it's not perfect. But it's so workable, and wonderful, and enjoyable... I think one of the things I love the most about us is how much we just enjoy each other. We still manage to have at least one 1-2 hr conversation on the phone each week, even after seeing each other. She's very spiritual & we enjoy sharing our beliefs & praying together sometimes. And we really inspire eachother to just be better people. So yes, I'm in love.... & I'm very content :D
I quit Ephpheta Centre last week! This week is my last.... then as of next week I'm a Disability Case Worker for the Deaf, working at Junction Works out at Austral! Excited about that :D
My brother's baby is due in 2 weeks time..... I'm constantly connecting with friends, new & old, on Facebook.... & yeah all in all life is just great :) I did a Landmark course with Caz back in June & that also fell perfectly into the rhythm of my life at that time, changing my beliefs, healing, letting go of old thought patterns etc.... it's helped it along tremendously.
Very very sadly, a wonderful friend of mine was murdered at the beginning of this month, I've written about him before. Darren Stratti was working for his gf's charity over in Tanzania, building villages for women & children, when the compound was broken into & he was shot defending it. It was a dreadful, terrible shock, an old school friend rang & told me when I was at work & I was such a mess I ended up going home. I cried for days. I did backing vocals on his last album, which is now a beautiful legacy left for his family. They played it at his funeral, Andrew Covell mastered "Found It", the song I created harmonies & vocals for, that he wrote for his partner Rebecka (who drove him to 3 different hospitals before he finally died :'( It sounded so good it's hard to believe it's my voice on there with him. The last time I wrote abt him on here was around March last year I think, when I sang with him at a gig in Glebe which doubled as his farewell party before he left for Tanzania. He was due home in two weeks when he was killed :'( It was big news in the media here & there were some beautiful write ups about him. He will be so sorely missed. He was one of few good, extremely decent men that I know. His funeral was beautiful, and the wake was like a school reunion. Caught up with some great ppl that I haven't spoken to in years, including a good chat with Nathan Hudson (whose band Faker are rocketing up the charts with their single 'This Heart Attack'), in fact only 2 weeks prior, Caz & I had been to an invite-only Faker gig at The Basement which I won tickets for. So I told him abt that & then we had a good reminisce & chuckle abt old school days & what a fag he always was ;)
Ok that's about all I have for now, will make sure I don't wait 3 months again before writing... particularly to tell all about the new job I will have started!!
Mwahhhhhh
