Tough as Steel

Do you know what takes real guts? It is saying nothing at all. It is the hardest thing in the world to do if someone gives you a reason to react but in the end you're the better person for it.

I haven't had a confrontation lately but it is something I've been thinking about. I hate biting my tongue yet I sometimes stick to my guns and just do it.

Who's the person people tend to criticize in an argument? Its the individual that spoke the hateful words. Then we talk about how great the person that didn't retaliate in a vicious (verbal or physical) way is. If they do speak up in an inappropriate way or do something vindictive then they are just as horrible in our eyes as the first person. It could even victimize the original villain.

Yes, it takes real guts to not let horrible people bring the worst out in you.
