Yesterday
So yesterday was the 1-year anniversary of the big quake and triple-disaster. To tell the truth, I didn't do anything memorial for it X_x I actually meant to and figured all shops would announce the moment of silence so we went to a cafe just before it but were still getting our order when the minute passed so I don't think we were actually silent for most of it.
I really wanted to go to one of the memorial services. When I heard about the emperor speaking at The National Theatre I looked up the location, but didn't see any listings for a memorial service. I just saw that an opera was being performed and it looked like the opera was to be held at the same time as the service would have been. But then reading reports it seems like there were other guest speakers, so I don't know if it was actually a public event or just how you would have gotten into it.
The mood in Shibuya did seem a little more toned down than usual, but besides that it did seem like any other day. It just doesn't seem like a year has passed. I myself can't really do all that much, but hope that the recovery up north continues and people continue to support it. Ganbare~
