LOL, I like Shane West, just not a Michael. But I will admit, the flashbacks are helping me get behind Michael/Nikita more, though not sure I still buy the romantic part, but their bond, I can see it. It's just hard to get behind others on this show when the Nikita/Alex relationship is the heart & soul behind this show.
ahahaha. You know, I can totally see that scenerio too.
I'm happy with Nikita/Alex in any incarnation really. I love the devotion these two girls have for each other. Slashy, sisterly, motherly, whatever pov the viewer takes of the pairing, can't argue that it's a tight real bond. Not enough of those on TV.
Yes, it's all good! Far be it from me to disparage the celebration of a close relationship between women on teevee!
It's just... I dunno, sometimes I have to laugh at how differently we (i.e., people) see things. ;-) Like how two pairs of characters can behave in The.Exact.Same.Way, but one of the pairs will be widely accepted as hot for each other and the other will be described as familial.
Really, I think, something about the discussion flashed me way, way back to Xena days when -- in trying to explain away "The Kiss" (ep 2x13) -- someone invoked the metaphor of mother birds feeding their chicks. I kid you not. :-D
Bonus connection: That Xena episode also featured Melinda Clarke!!

As much as I joke about the femslash, I actually ship Nikita/Alex friendship first and foremost, slash second (mainly cause I know it'll never be canon on this show). But scenes like giving each other Valentine's Day gifts sure do crack me the heck up. Have you seen this interview tho? http://clutch.mtv.com/2011/02/14/magg-q-valentines-day/ Maggie is so a Nikita/Alex shipper too :P
