So, I was reading along on some productivity blogs and I came across an interesting idea for journaling. It's the
Topics Du Jour courtesy of Litemind. Basically, you list out 30 areas or aspects of your life that you want to keep track of and on that day of the month, you journal about that thing. I'm going to give it a shot, starting on my next post.
Today, I got quite a bit done. Back in 1999, I bought a motorcycle from a friend. Because I don't tend to be the most organized person, I didn't actually get the title switched over. When it came time that I needed to do that, I found that we had lost the title in a move somewhere, and we've been stuck with this thing for about the last 10 years. I found someone on craigslist who takes junk motorcycles and uses them for parts and scrap metal, and he took it off my hands for free today, freeing up amazing amounts of space in my garage.
I also took some of the spare wood that's been laying around my garage for the last 3 years and built a set of industrial-strength shelves. Two by fours for the beams and cross-members and 3/4" plywood for the shelves. The thing would probably hold the motorcycle on a shelf. Very good for our 30-50 pound storage boxes.
Tomorrow will be a goodwill run to get rid of the last of the giveaway pile in the garage, and I'll also be running some clothes down to the hospital. We have a dryer that we're going to sell and a set of dishware. Once all that's gone, we'll set up some more shelving and put the pantry storage where it's supposed to be. Then I can work on building out the rest of my workbench and then it's on to fine woodworking and good bicycle maintenance.
On the health front, the knee is still bad, and I've got an appointment with the orthopedist on the 1st to see what the next step is. I can't seem to ride more than a mile without having issues, and it's still swelling up on me when I do more than a little walking on it. We shall see what the doc says. Hopefully, I won't need surgery.
