Traveling

It's that time again.  It's January, so it's time for the now annual trip out to Denver to see the folks.  I've made it from Medford to Portland now, and I'm just sitting in PDX, enjoying a nice Italian sausage sandwich with grilled onions and watching the world go by.  I have another hour and a half before my flight leaves for Denver.

I managed to score a mostly empty flight out of Medford, so i was able to swap my assigned seat for a really roomy Emergency Exit seat.  I had the whole row to myself, and almost 4 feet of leg room!  Mental note... Always try to score seat 9B on the EMB-120 jets.

This should have been a train trip with me and A, but A came down with a wonderful case of viral pneumonia just before we were slated to leave on Sunday evening.  Getting stuck in the middle of nowhere on a train if something serious happens is not what we really wanted to do, so we canceled the train tickets, and my parents picked up some plane tickets for me so I could still make it out for this year's Gathering of Men.

Just before I left, I, too, came down sick, but I'm a stubborn Marine, and I wouldn't let that stop me from flying out and spending the weekend with my parents and old friends.  So far, I've gotten ahold of most of the folks I'd like to see again, and most have some time free, so it looks like I'll be able to see everyone I want to.  I'll be seeing
lonewolf_csu and possibly
tekfox tomorrow, and then I'll see another good friend or two on Sunday or Monday.  I'm not really sure how much driving I really want to do, so I may just meet Lone in Denver, since I'll be driving out to Boulder sometime this week, too.

Not much else to comment on at this point, so I'll leave it at that.
