I love dinner parties. I love having them; I love going to them; I love eating at them; I don't so much like cleaning up after them, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Cooking for people is a pleasure - and what better excuse to do so than for having your sister* visit you in Europe?
So for the meat-eaters amongst us (the pescarians were invited, but there wasn't much that they'd appreciate), a feast. Duck chips (actually fries made with potato, but fried in duck-fat for that delicious flavour) with a mustard-vinegrette glaze for the first course. The main was tabouli salad, grilled red peppers and shallots, and confit of duck. Then some cheese for those interested (I wasn't, for obvious reasons), and then sour candies (compliments of my sister).
It was good. It was very good.
I really need to have more of these.
