Went to the Japan Food & Travel Fair today and is back to share with you guys :D
It was seriously fabulous. They invited a Ji-Kabuki troupe from Gifu prefecture and JAL cabin attendants to the event.
The Ji-Kabuki -- performed by amateur Kabuki performers, the residents of Gifu, but about as good as the professional ones.
They performed a special skit promoting Gifu - the food, the tourist attractions so on. It was really entertaining; though I didn't really get what their movements were all about.
PS: It was narrated in Japanese, but they subtitled it on the screen behind :)
The JAL cabin attendants. They performed a mini fashion show of the various attires of the cabin attendants of JAL throughout the years. I didn't quite catch the exact year, so I'll just guess XDDD
From start of JAL to 1952. I think.
From 1952-1959.
From 1959 - 196 something? Apparently they had no air-conditioning then. The horror.
Not sure of the time.
Sky-blue. Apt.
Mini skirt. XDD Nice~
Long skirt. Plus black-and-white striped arm-warmers. Apparently popular then due to a drama.
Military-like attire...
I believe the MC said something sbout the attire representing elegance and what-not?
Used till 2004
From 2004 - now
I also went around taking all those free magazines about the various prefectures. XDD got a real thick stack. Thicker than Kunshi's doujin :DDDD Plus pretty, pretty plastic bags for the magazine. The Hokkaido one had a picture of a lavender field with a mountain range in the back ground. The tokyo disney land one had Mickey and Minnie on it. :DDDD
It is events like this that make me feel really fortunate to be in Singapore :D
