The Stones Report

Nov 29, 2006 20:46

The stones were a-mazing. With an emphasis on amazing. Getting there was stressful though. Cause we missed the 12:30 ferry, so we had to take the three. Which put us at the hotel with just enough time to grab Beth on the front steps and then drive back to the concert. Then we had to stand in the rain for like ever, till Beth turned blue, finally they were like 'you guys are cool, jump in front of these other people'. So we did. Then I stood in line for the bathroom and some ladies hand was on my ass. Eek.
But twas all good once we got to our seats, other than the bitchy whiny no-fun people around us. They wouldn't let us stand up and dance, ergh. But anyways, we sat there for a bit, cause even though Bonnie Raitt went on at about 7, the stones didn't go on till like 9. It was cool though cause we were pretty much sitting there twiddling our thumbs, when the lights went out and then there was like this really loud chord that just ripped through the stadium, and a spotlight came on and it was like "holy crap it's keith!". So then they all came out and played Jumpin' Jack Flash. The energy was just amazing!
I seriously didn't realize that mick could dance and run like a madman for the entire show! Well, when he wasn't playing guitar for us. Plus Keith sang us 3 songs! He was apparently only going to sing one cause he was thinking about which one to sing and he was taking his time with it when he said "This is the brain damage". Then after the first song he turned to go get his guitar, but I guess they gestured to him or something, cause he turned back around and said "I guess I'm singing 3 songs". Plus, Mick can run really friggin fast. During Satisfaction, he ran all the way down the little extension (the security guy couldn't keep up with him) sang a few words and then ran back! I was like "Dude, you're 63!". But age don't really matter to all our 'aging' rockstars now does it? So basically it was intensely amazing, the pyrotechnics were cool, and Mick's tophat during Sympathy For The Devil was intensely wicked. And Keith looked just like the pirate he is inside. And Ron wore a wicked batman shirt. And when they inflated the logo, the tongue was wiggling around, which looked rather amusing to me. Those whiny people around us were so annoying though, they didn't even clap for an encore. Ergh.
Then after the concert we went to Denny's (cause we was starving), and I gave Beth her present and we phoned Sam and left her a message.
We didn't get to hang out a whole lot though because of the intense ferry situation, and because of the snow the next day, we didn't go anywhere. But twas good anyways. Twas amazing actually, to be perfectly honest. Now I need to raise money for Clapton! Yay Clapton!
Plus, when we were back in the hotel parking lot (sufficiently frozen, and SOMEBODY with freezing toes :P) there were these drunk guys that my mom and I had met before we left for Denny's, and they had been trying to get in the back door I guess. And so we walked up there, and they were like "Don't try the door, it doesn't open and despite what you might think, that door stopper is not a button" lol. They were pretty hilarious.
The best part of the trip though was the abduction. The hotel screwed up with the rooms (which my mom still has to complain about) and so my mom couldn't find Beth's parents, and vice versa. So beth's parents pretty much thought we abducted her. Till they ran into each other in the lobby.

Now on a more somber note, I miss the George. Very much so. That's all I can really say now, because there are things I have to do....
I love the George, and miss him so friggin much,
Erin
P.S. Ironically, we started our Abbey Rd project today, where we had to take someone out and replace them with a gorilla (i actually put a walrus in john's place...i would have put it in paul's place but I was there, so that I could stand near George) and now I just have to finish it up by putting us on Mars. I'll upload the picture when I'm done.
