jonathan got a call from... MY MOM... yesterday.
one of her friends helps college students find affordable housing. so mom gave him her number, some tips for finding good places, and a list of streets to be looking at in coventry.
i told jonathan to consider it an honor that my mom extended that much help to him (along with the offer to let him stay here when he first comes up if he hasn't found a place by then). she's never done that for anybody else i've ever dated.
he's been looking at apartments pretty hard the past two days. he found some amazing working lofts downtown (some had screening rooms included for people who make films.) and they only cost about what he is paying now.
last night we were discussing what we will be able to afford with my current wage.
but i'll have a review by the time december rolls around, so i should get a wage increase.
i also told him that the other employees got their profitsharing check yesterday, and it was around $600 (before taxes). i have that (or something similar) to look forward to every three months. and my first one will include part of THIS check, so it will be even more than everyone else's.
bwaha! i love my job. ^_^

yesterday i spent some time reworking my games and humor section... specifically the roleplaying books.
vampire: the masquerade is now organized by dark ages player's guides, dark ages storytelling companions, masquerade player's guides, gehenna player guide, guide to the camarilla, camarilla clanbooks, guide to the sabbat, sabbat clanbooks, masquerade storytelling books, then kindred of the east storytelling books...
in other words, the way i would have them if they were on my shelf at home.
i was so proud, i dragged everyone i worked with over to witness the glory. ^_^
i'm working on hunter and werewolf next... we don't have much to speak of in the way of wraith, mummy, or mage. nothing at all in any of the other books.
the D&D section looks pretty horrid at the moment, too. i'll fix that...
I LOVE ROCKING MY OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDER!!!
i think i'm going to clearance the GURPS books. everyone hates GURPS.
but i am BUYING the shadowrun books. oh yes i am.
