the year that was

Dec 30, 2011 02:56

I reread my old journals in the spirit of the holidays to get a fresh perspective on my life as a whole. I figured that I ought to get a bird's eye view of my recent past to get a good grasp. While it was a funny, sad and cringe-worthy experiment, it did bring up a lot of things. There were common themes of love, acceptance, maturity and healing as well as deep-seated resentment, bitterness, anger and frustration. It was an eye-opening experience.

Lots of things happened. I broke up with Jerome, I got into Teletech, I (accidentally) quit Up-Up Batangas and I collected boys like crazy. I graduated from college. I was regularized in my job. I was offered tons of jobs. I learned to read Tarot cards and tell fortunes. I lost weight and then I gained it all back by December. I made so many friends! I learned to love myself! I became very confident and very self-assured! I had so many experiences that listing them all down would take forever.

If 2011 was the year of self-discovery then 2012 would be the year of self-improvement.

The person that I became was funny, interesting and confident. She was competent in her job, kind to other humans and sexy as hell. She was amazing. And she's still growing!

What's on my list for 2012?
