Sick for a month. I can't begin to tell you how over it I am. I'm just not feeling very confident in my medical care right now, but in this country it's all the same.
I'd like to wake up and be able to write a sentence without the fear that I've forgotten a word or two, or a letter or fifteen, but it's starting to really wear me down. I stare at the screen trying to pick out what I've missed, and more often than not I never see it.
I was thinking that after the Holiday began (the 15th here) I might find an interesting and compelling sim and give it a go again. Certainly I'd like to be able to write well though, and at this point I can't be assure my characters will be any more than the one dimensional characters I hate. *Sigh*
I'd just like to be well again really. I don't think it's too much to ask, for instance, that doctors actually get your vitals and do more than listen to your lungs before they make a pronouncement. But apparently "In Australia they have different medical protocols".
At least the girls and Jess are well - I can give thanks for that - I don't know that I have any seriously ill friends at the moment - so I'll be grateful for that.
I can also be thankful that we can actually have Christmas this year, and I can give my kids something special. So it's far from all bad - I'm just sick of this. Perhaps the pun is intended.
Plans for the Holiday? I had travel plans, a gaming convention and a couple Christmas parties on the hook. We'll definitely get the girls back to the Aquarium at Darling Harbor, and we want to do the other two attractions that go with it. Umm, Wildlife world and the Imax, and I think there was something else, but I can't think of it right now.
In other news: I'm really very pleased with the previews I've seen for Game of Thrones on HBO. My favorite actors in roles right now are Sean Bean as Eddard Stark and I'm really tickled with the choice of Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo. Really as I watch the teaser videos and the 15 minute 'behind the scenes' special, I am certain I will buy the series as soon as it is for sale. I only hope I can also get it on iTunes or something so That I can watch it on the first run.
If those names and characters don't ring a bell, it's okay. It's just a minor "Geeking out about it" moment for me and one of my favorite dark fantasy series. Sometimes I just need something really stupid and geeky to smile about.
Proof read this a couple of times and ran the spell check, but hey - those things are not fool proof.
