You know, I was going to write out a huge post about how my work tried to screw me over for Comic Con, but this facebook chat summarizes it so well, I'm just going to post it.

Like, I work in a seriously dystopian environment.  "The Tower" is dark and in the center of the room and it has a narrow staircase leading up to a circle of computers.  Most of the people that work there are rather intimidating and when you go up to "the Tower" they are staring down at you from up above and ugh it's awful.  They are the ones in charge of time of scheduling.  You call them when you're sick.  They're the ones that tell you to go home if call volume is low or demand overtime because the management fired too many people at once and they need to have a certain number of people on the phones or the site gets shut down.  They aren't management, though.  They are basically the enforcers.  They're the dystopian future's secret police.  And they are constantly monitoring your computers so they're stealthy.  If you are in a phone state for too long, they call you and tell you to go into ready.  They're just... ugghhh...

My roommate agreed to cover my shift in exchange for coffee and cigarettes.
