Today I issued a refund check for seven cents. The customer closed down his account in August and overpaid by seven cents and has been getting a statement monthly telling that we, in fact, owe him seven cents.  He wanted us to just issue a refund check to make the letters stop because they just keep coming and he's tired of getting letters about seven cents.  I was actually talking to a rep in one of our stores at the time and the guy was YELLING at the poor store rep about this.  I filled out a case for it and I was practically in tears laughing at the situation.  This customer was IRATE over SEVEN CENTS and because of how beaurocracy works my company was practically harassing him and spending way more than seven cents sending him letter after letter and paying me and this sales rep and the back office crew that had to deal with the fallout.
