I think I know why I love Daenerys so much.

There are a ton of parallels between us and watching her journey is giving me a lot of strength in my journey. First and foremost, we are both currently wandering in search of a place to call home. For her, home consists of the land of Westeros, which she's only heard second hand from her brother and her family supporters. For me, it's any place where I can settle down and let my life take root. But either way, we're chasing the dream of finding a home and we aren't going to stop until we find it.
Also, both of our families have a history of mental illness, which has given us a bit of a rough starting point for our lives. While Dany let her husband drown her brother's head in gold, I just, well, stopped talking to my crazy mother and decided to try for life on my own. But we've picked up people along the way. We've made a family. She picked up Jorah and her handmaidens and her Dothraki supporters (and others later), while I picked up my fangirl friends and my Portland friends and a select few people from my previous life before I fled California. This is our family. It goes beyond blood.
Also, our 'pets' are our children. No, ok, hold on, stop laughing at me. Yes, she hatched those dragons and I just picked up Bruce at a pet shelter, but still. I think of him as my child. He's been with me through an extremely turbulent period of my life. He's mah bb.
So we're basically just these lost "little girls" with a makeshift family trying to find our way back to this mythical "home" thing. And we have to be strong and brave despite all the obstacles. We just have to.
Daenerys. Fuck yeah. Long live Daenerys. Stay strong. Take back Westeros. Be a BAMFy woman.
Side note: I want to go to a Ren Faire dressed as Daenerys. But a) I've never been to a Ren Faire and I don't know if character cosplay (vs anachronism) is acceptable and b) god damn that would be an expensive costume. I particularly like her costume from Quarth where she put that gorgeous top over her Dothraki garb, but looked oh so amazingly beautiful and BAMFy at the same time. DANY I LOVE YOU.
