A mid-sized sedan coming at me down the sidewalk no longer frightens me. Is this a good thing?

Hey LJ, what's up? Long time no talk.

I've been ridiculously tired/busy/traveling a ridiculous amount of time each day for work so that I am dead by the time I get home. Really. It's one thing to fall asleep on the QingPu bus. That bus ride is at least 40 minutes without traffic. It's basically going to another city and back each day so sleeping is almost expected. It's another thing entirely to fall asleep on the in town bus that takes you four stops to your place. That's what I was doing. Thank god it's summer and I get some time off. How much time, I don't know. I'm hoping for a week at least. I know it'll be a week at least before I find out what I'm doing over the summer.

I am currently being meowed at by Chiko (Chikorita), who is one of our latest fosters. He was found a month ago stuck inside the wheel well of a car. He is a ginger who is going through his terrible twos right now. He's probably about three months old and still sucks his own nipple. That's actually what he did as soon as he finished meowing at me. He curled up beside me and started sucking. Sucking and purring. He is going to be rather upset with me when I move the blanket to go to sleep. It won't last. He'll curl up next to my head and suck his nipple again. It's odd.

We have another foster that was brought in last night. Someone in the building decided to dump a small litter of them just as Mandy was taking the dog out for a walk. The others ran away but this one tried to get back in the building. She picked him up and we brought him inside. We are cautiously optimistic with this one. He seems to be doing fine, is alert and eating some but he's been having diarrhea. That generally isn't a good sign in a cat this young. He's roughly the same age as Chiko but in desperate need of food and a bath. The little one stinks! We can't wash him for at least another day because of the flea treatment, but when we can... Well, I hate to think of what the water is going to be like. The poor thing is covered in fleas and dirt and god knows what else. The vet that checked him out today said that his ear is broken. One of the other cats tried to take a chunk out of it so he has a scabby gash on it. We've picked out the name Remy for him and we're all hoping he makes it. If the diarrhea disappears it'll be fine. The poor little thing.

As it was the end of school, I ended up with so much from my students. I have three new plants, bracelets, cards, pictures, artwork, you name it. I ended up bringing home three bag of things from them. I have to go back on Monday to pick up my regular teaching things. I so hope I go back there in September.

Anywho, I have pictures. Lots of pictures. Months worth of pictures. There are a lot. I'm warning you.

So yeah. My LJ paid time expires on the 26th so I am going to enjoy the hell out of LJ until then. It figures, when I have the energy to post the paid time is gone. Oh well. I'm going to bed since I have to sit through four and a half hours of stuff tomorrow at Josh's school. Gotta love grad ceremonies.
