This was the first thing that popped into my head one day when I had to go use the washroom at the new shopping plaza thing they are building. It really is impossible. I often wonder just how older woman and pregnant women manage to do it. I'd get stuck for sure and it's not a flattering position.
I was just offered some crackers. They are good but need a bit of salt. That's one thing I've noticed about the food here. They have a lot of seasonings and flavourings but the one thing they seem to shy away from is salt. Maybe it's just that my body is going through withdrawal.
Well, as an add-on from last week:
We have named the kitten. Her name is Cherry. We managed to catch her brother. His name is Vince. Last Saturday was interesting, I tell you. I spent the afternoon with Cherry on my lap. It wasn't bad since it was cold and she was very warm. Warm but tiny. I didn't really realize just how tiny she was until we caught her brother.
Poor Vince. In the afternoon, when Cherry started meowing again I thought I hear a second. We had closed the windows of the building they were staying in so that they would have to go out the door and that would make it easier to catch them. It worked. Cherry was easy to catch which was why I had her sitting with me that afternoon. When she stopped meowing the second meow stopped. I thought it was coming from outside and so did everyone else.
It came time to leave and we packed the little one up in the carrier and headed out the door. She started meowing again because she was being bounced around and we heard the second meow again. I went outside to see if it was coming from just outside the door and
traveling_storm went to check under the stairs. Sure enough, after moving the photocopier and a few boxes, a tiny little black fuzzball bolted out. He ran into a glass door while trying to escape. He was trying to climb in my purse when I went to pick him up and then I had a cat on my hand.
Not in, but on. He reached around just as I went to scruff him and he sank his fangs into my hand. I had a kitten dangling from it. Mandy had to help me get him off and we bundled him up in my sweater. It's a good thing I wore two that day.
We brought them home and bought a bunch of things that we needed to have on hand and that they would need and set up the laundry room for them. After that first night, Vince's personality did an about face. He went from hissing and fighting to downright blob-like. He worries me a bit. He isn't eating as much and spends most of his time curled up on my chest. I told Mandy today that I want to get a bottle feeding routine going with him until we can get some word from the vet on whether or not there is something major wrong. It could just be shock and that the solid food is just too hard for him. He had a huge belly earlier but it's gone down quite a bit. I massage it all the time and damn, but this thing is gassy as all hell. The smells that come from him would shock a grown man. Well, shock him or make him jealous that he can't smell as bad as a seven week old kitten.
Anyway, I am going to watch some videos on
Chinese Youtube and wish for us to have internet at home.
Oh, and I am going to make a list of the CDs I want to buy at the store close to work. I found Super Junior. I swear to you, I let the most ridiculous fangirl squeal out when I saw the CD and I am going to go and buy it on Monday. It has Siwon's abs on the cover. Yes, I am a teenager.
