Ironman #500
Because - damn...just damn.
First off, I am pleasantly surprised that Peter is still hurt miffed has complex feelings over...well everything that happened between him and Tony. Which, by the way, is extremely complicated because of the deal with Mephisto. At this point, I assume Tony does

Despite how I loved the mentor-ship that happened between Tony and Peter...I still don't buy that Peter would give up all responsibility like that. He's a fully grown 20 something year old who out of ALL the heroes KNOWS the consequence of his decisions [fumes]...I get annoyed that no one bothered to use Peter in a way that he would actually act, and that would be to call Tony out on his actions. Ideally he should have been the check and balance to Tony in Steve's place since Steve was so OOC. Civil War had potential - they just screwed it up...
I think that's why I'm wary about the FEAR event - even though Fraction is heading it - it doesn't mean the spin-off tie ins won't character-suicide people. Throughout everything they put out there about FEAR, they kept trying to justify the Civil War events. I am surprised no one flat out told them "you know...Civil War kind of sucked...hence why no one likes events" But alas...I tell you, reading these comics is a lot like reading bad fanfics...[shakes head] I have no idea HOW a character would act anymore.
As where it fits with Ultron future...I suppose this is a future where they all beat the Ultron evilness, but Tony screws up something else. I doubt they'd make Maria pregnant since they aborted Steve's baby with Sharon...so [sweatdrops] unless Pepper magically heals...they might bring about a kid from an unknown parent. Personally, I wouldn't mind a kid combining Tony and Steve's DNA :3
Hey if Lex Luthor and Superman can have a clone kid (Superboy) then I am not ruling it out...

Agh! I'm seriously feeling like I chose a really bad time to become a Tony fan... Do you know, the scans ppl aren't even scanning IM titles now?! D:
Ya, I agree that *if* Peter was actually taking responsibility during CW, he wouldn't have done that... I'm just saying that it seems the only way to reconcile canon behaviour.... In that, Peter has basically been forced to grow up and take responsibility since he was 15 years old... Despite being a young hero, by the virtue of being one of the longest in the biz as well, he has never really been mentored or taken care of... So, it might not be so OOC, if you look at it like that... That Tony was basically sheltering him for the first time in a long while... (Though that makes the eventual cluster-fuck even worse, since Peter was the first time in a long while Tony took someone under their wings to that extent as well...)
Uhh... yeah... I think that's the worst FEAR the event is generating... Not another screw-up! ;p But there's a new EIC so maybe there'll be more coherency and control all around, this time? And hopefully they've learnt something from CW... For all they keep justifying it, the very fact that they feel the need to justify it, means that they realize something went wrong...
Though if their only goal was selling more books, CW definitely achieved that so... *shrugs* And people may bitch about events, but they still buy them, so the company has not much incentive to improve, really... Though, iirc, most of the post CW events were at least consistent in characterizations across the board, right? [I still hold that the only reason for the wildly varying characterizations during CW was the fact that they couldn't really make the pro-regs look bad, unless they behaved 'evil'...]
You know I am seriously getting sick of the 'Tony screws up and things go bad' plot lines... Time for something new, people! '-_-'
Hey, a question? Didn't you say something about Steve having visions of a War of the World-esque things? Could you tell me what issues exactly are these? 6_6?

I will warn you though, I'd be very careful on how you allude to DL scans of certain comics outside of PMs or emails. It's not like the manga realm where everything seems very slack (though that is changing). Marvel and DC are very big AMERICAN companies and will shut down any source of piracy and press charges towards those who indulge in the act...fair warning. However - piracy never really dies and if you know what to look for you'll find it.
N E ways back on topic, being a Tony fan is hard, especially when Marvel's creative team constantly uses Tony as a plot device. However, the only way we fans can justify this is that Tony is the reason the MU exists. Without him the MU would be boring...there would be no Avengers, no Captain America, no a lot of things - so there we go. It's easier to take Tony's screw ups and make something happen then it is to make something say Steve did in order to make something happen. If you look at it, Tony is in a unique position to where he isn't pigeon-held in the same hole as the other heroes. He has the ability to cross into the dark-side and then go the other way and be a freaking hero.
More people can believe Tony would do something evil then say Cap doing something evil. Tony is just that complex of a character to where we don't know what to expect. What other character can do what Tony does? Yeah it sucks the constant repetitive something blows up in Tony's face, but hopefully Fraction can help change that with the whole FEAR thing.
And for Steve's vision that actually goes back to the Captain America Reborn mini...which I really don't like but hey...that's where the vision is...

Yeah... It certainly is! (I'm sorry if I whined too much... ¬_¬; Been a bit ^%&^% lately) But unfortunately I don't even have an option to *not* love Tony! Though I think that as of now, the only way he can go pure villain is in case of mental breakdown... A Knight Templar/ Well-Intentioned Extremist however, is quite possible... ;)
You've made me seriously want to see a 'It's a Wonderful Life'-esque fic done for Tony, now... Because yes, Marvel Universe would be a very different place, almost certainly not for the better... Without Tony's contributions...
Okay, have you read 'What If? Avengers Disassembled'? It is awesome and unexpected with a few nice Steve/ Tony moments as well, (though not many)... But the twist is unexpected, and worth checking it out for...
Thanks! And then the visions continue through the Secret Avengers, right?

And don't worry about venting frustrations about Tony!fandom because - it's all true. I know I complain enough here on my own journal, which is probably why it turned into let's review Marvel...thanks a lot Tony... XDDDDD
I can't actually remember if I read the What if Avengers Disassembled...I think back when I had the digital subscription, I read a what if disassembled and Steve went nuts for whatever reason and he and Wanda disappeared together in another universe with two imaginary kids. It was very creepy...
Steve's vision...eh well I suppose you can say the first arc may be hints of Steve's vision in it - maybe, but there is no specifics. So unless you want Sharon/Steve shoved down your throats so far you can't breathe...I think you can skip Secret Avengers if you want.

And yeah, that's the one I was talking about... The revelation was tres creepy, right? (I'm surprised it never got brought up in the comm, with all the discussion of crazy!Steve and evil!Steve that went on in the old posts...)
Thanks for the advice.... Will keep in mind... :D [Though now I have a complete masochistic desire to do just that... *headdesk*]
