So....

Sep 01, 2010 15:29

So, I've been working on the final product of the Reverse Cap/Ironman Big Bang I signed up for...I realized I'm probably making it more complicated then it really needs to be, but hey what can I say since I have a chance to actually practice some of my skills.  Ha, boy have I learned I am out of practice [shakes head].  My collaborator, penumbren  is working on the writing portion and I can't say I envy the deadline in October...even though technically that's my deadline as well [scratches head].  I think I got the hard part over with really.  It should be finished within the next week or two, but that's not counting for additional art.  Pen requested a pic of a scene she sent me a little of and I have an idea...though for the sake of easy I may resort to my anime style just cause that makes things a lot easier.  I also have something in mind, but it may be a sort of after big bang art, since flash art does take a bit of time.

Other news, I can't wait to see the "Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes" cartoon that's supposed to air on Disney's XD Channel in the fall.  Before you ask, no I have no problem with Disney XD, I mean for the guys the same guys that are airing Naruto Shippuden...heck yeah, they got my full support.  Still, I remember when I first saw Shippuden on XD and went (O_O) Hmmm shouldn't you be on Cartoon Network?  I won't comment how bad/lame CN has gotten.  The refusal to showcase any new anime is really sad considering the success they had with Toonami way back when...heck even when they ran Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha, Code Geass, Death Note, One Piece, Cowboy Bebop just to name a few really helped.

However, I think there are some shows that are pretty good.  Scooby Doo Mystery Inc is entertaining and oh-so campy!  Unnatural History is a new twist, reminds me of classic adventure stuff I used to watch as a kid, which is a good thing.  Generator Rex and Ben 10 Alien Force (haven't really watched Ultimate Alien) is still nice...makes me envious that the same company will animate the upcoming Ultimate Spiderman series... D8 why couldn't you have done the Avengers?!  Oh well...

So, yes, fall is going to be an interesting time for fandom, TV and also for Marvel comics.  One series I'm looking forward to is the "Iron Man/Thor" coming in November...waaaah so far away!  You know, aside from canon that Tony and Thor are close friends, I bet they are really pushing the idea of the team-up for the sake of the Thor movie coming May 6, 2011.  Admittedly, I really know nothing of Thor, so I'm going to come to that movie with no expectations really....but yeah, back on point.  Another team-up I was surprised to see that's going to be coming up sometime is Iron Man and Spider-Man  in "Carnage".  Why Carnage is coming after Tony I have no idea, so if anyone can fill me in let me know, but YA-HA Peter and Tony working together!  The one thing I can be thankful for about OMD is the reset of the falling out between Tony and Peter.

I think Marvel isn't too opposed to getting back...at least the little bit...of the unique relationship those two shared before everything went BOOM.  Tony needs people in his corner besides Rhodey, Pepper and Maria Hill.  Having Spidey back there will at least put some balance back...I mean Tony practically treated Peter like a little brother.  Then Civil War happens, which is why I firmly believe anything "canon" can't be taken too seriously since apparently Marvel doesn't care, so why should I?  Anyways, the point is, he and Peter clicked and I don't see why that can't be back in place since they are on the Avengers together anyways.  We saw a bit of it when Peter saved Tony from going splat in Avengers # 3.  Thank you Bendis <3

What there's more?  Yes...I do like to blab, probably why Spidey is one of my favs <3
Today September 1st, a lot stuff I want to eventually read came out today.  Avengers: Children's Crusade #2 is one of them since the Young Avengers are by far my favorite Avengers team.  To me, they should be the example that the Avengers teams need to strive for.  Working together with solid teamwork, being there for one another and actually listening to one another are kind of a BIG thing as far as team dynamics.  I wouldn't mind putting each the Avengers, New Avengers and Secret Avengers through Kakashi's bell test to see who would actually pass.  Seriously though, why is this bi-monthly?  We are on issue 2 out of 9, so by the time we finish it'll be November 2011.

Is that around the time they are planning to have Steve back as Cap, since he's in the Captain America costume?  The Captain America Movie is due around July 22, 2011, so it's a possibility.  Personally, if and when the time comes...I'll be freaking happy.  I'm sorry, but Bucky!Cap makes me laugh because he's contradicting the whole "Big Three" Marvel is suddenly trying to push.  Yes, I understand that the big three are supposed to be "Steve Rogers, Thor and Iron Man" but....I never SEE Steve with the other two!  Seriously Steve, where the f**k did you go?  Are you too busy playing black ops that you sort of just forgot these two are supposed to be your close friends?  Wait, Avengers Prime supposed to cover that...but that's ALSO Bi-monthly, which really doesn't make sense since it's RIGHT AFTER SIEGE!!!  So, Prime is one big FLASHBACK!  The cover for issue #3 makes me laugh...why does Tony get a stick and Cap get a sword and shield?  Okay, technically it's a club, but why not a mace or heck a cross bow (since Tony is a ranged fighter)?  Tony also got tortured by trolls last issue while Steve got to kiss a Wanda look-alike.

D8<  Marvel I sense favoritism, just cause you love Tony more does not mean it's okay to screw him over again and again.  Just because he's getting a second season on Armored Adventures, leads the Super Hero Squad, apparently is going to lead the Avengers in Earth's Mightiest Heroes and has currently the Invincible Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man Legacy solo comic lines...does not promote character abuse.  Look at how you treat Steve, cameos left and right, mini-series after mini-series, the fact Secret Avengers pretty much revolves around him...able to take full Nova power no sweat, life going pretty good, shoving Sharon/Steve down our throat to the point I already have the wedding invite in my mailbox.

No, I don't hate Steve, but are you seeing my point here?  I've looked around on forums, and there is maybe ONE other person that has an issue with Mary-Sue Steve.  Don't give me the bullshit...it seems as soon as Steve shows up he automatically fixes everything and has no repercussions to any of his actions.  Just cause you killed Steve off does not mean he gets to come back as non-human.  He makes mistakes...SHOW IT!  Breaking a bad guys hand in Captain America...what was it #609 doesn't really count as a mistake since...hey bad guy who cares.  To quote one guy, "...he's the retuning hero and the heroic age hinges on his leadership...how much sense does it make to make him fallible."  Oh I concur, forget dimensional depth and Marvel's [gasp] relatebility...psssh it's overrated.

Steve must save the world from this untold future and hey....[peers at Steve] hmm, don't you think it's important to SAY something about the War of the Worlds rip off invader type things to someone?  I'm pretty sure giving the other Avengers a heads up might be a good thing.  Wasn't one of the main problems in Civil War was because Tony didn't share his thoughts and info about it?  You know...because he KNEW what was going to happen and what not.  Oh but no worries Steve, since it's you...it'll go off without a hitch.  [watches as Pissed-Off!Tony applies for a transfer to DC Universe]

But you know...the more I see, the more I feel sorry for Bucky!Cap.  He's so apparently bad at switching roles with Cap that apparently he's constantly jumping into things without looking.  He's the "rookie" role hands down, and it was funny how Wolverine out of all people had to hold him back in Avengers #3.  He's an under-dog and I want him to succeed.  He's already more interesting then current!Steve in any case...so yeah.  Come on Buck, step-up and show us what you can do, make me believe you deserve to be Captain America.  Marvel...stop trying to rip off DC's Dick Grayson as Batman....I'm pretty sure that's the WHOLE reason you didn't have them switch back.  Plus what do you think is gonna happen once Bruce gets back from the time stream?

Well that rant ending...where was I?  Oh yes....other things that came out today that I might have into are: I am an Avenger #1, Iron Man Legacy #6, Iron Man 2: Agents of SHIELD #1, Shadowland #3, and Heroic Age: One Month to Live #1.
