In Which We Discuss Marvel - again
Well, it's definitely been awhile since I talked about Marvel comics...and I mean really talk about them. We've got a lot of ground to cover since I'm behind and all, but hey [shrugs] But before we head into the comics, lets chat about random things both Marvel and not.
Okay, first up I would like to thank anyone who listened to my !@#$%^ Secret Santa DUE DATE insanity and all that was evil and yadda. Thank goodness that's over. I can't wait to see the Secret Santas...and I am hoping that my requests don't get coated in anti-Tony/pro-Steve sentiment since I requested Civil War things. Also, I hope to have my gift to all of my "friends only" people up (yeah all three of you, lol) sometime within the next few weeks.
Other news, Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes latest ep "Widow's Sting" was awesome. I'll admit I don't like the lack of Tony screen time, but that's the price you pay for being a Tony!fangirl I think. Still, entertaining though. I laughed when Steve and T'Challa had to call Tony and say they lost Hawkeye. [falls over and snickers] God poor Tony...no one listens to him. Ha, I loved the excuses Cap and Panther offer for not listening too. "It sounded like more of a suggestion..." Psssh sure Steve...I can so see Tony going (>_<) behind the mask.
Depending on how Yost wants to play this - Tony's character development could go into how he has to prove himself a good leader and actually earns the respect from his fellow Avengers. But who knows - I won't get my hopes up too high on that. A fun thing to note is that Hank appears to be Tony's second in command, or maybe that's because of how much time they spend together. Huh, I thought Cap and Tony were supposed to be BFFs...if the series gets popular...I can see the HankxTony fandom give StevexTony a run for it's money.
I am looking forward to more team interaction. We have bridges being built between Cap, Panther and Clint, Jan and Thor, Hulk and Clint, Tony and Hank, Jan and Hulk, plus Jan and Hank. Come on 8D more Steve and Tony! From the title of the next ep...we could be dealing with Kang the Conqueror next.
Alright, so if you have been keeping up with Marvel or at least checking in on the main website - we probably have a new event coming up that has a lot to do with "fear." The details will be broadcasted Dec. 21st @ noon on Marvel's website....but so far we've been given teaser images.

I've said how this was pretty much a freaking artbook of Ironman variant covers. Well take a look at some of them!

Okay - okay for real this time...actual regular comics now....
Lets start with the latest New Avengers # 7. Apparently I hear that this is going to be the last comic Immonen will be on...which makes me D8 because I'm only looking into this book because of him. He has pretty art. I have no clue who the new artist will be, but I may peek over to see if I like it or not. Anyways - what is important to note.

Steve is all powerful and pays for any dammages
Spidey said "I'm so excited I could poop" (D8 WTF Bendis...)

Personally, I like how the issue at least gives us some answers...or at least answers to things I wanted to know. I still think it's stupid Spidey doesn't get paid because he hasn't unmasked. Oh well, pulling a stipend from two teams and having his dream job in his own comic line I guess would stabilize Peter's life too much.
Which brings me to Spider-Man #650.
If you've been reading Spidey or haven't been reading Spidey...the current status quo is that Peter now has his dream job in Horizon Labs. The short of it is that he just developed o new stealth suit that reflects vibration and bends light and sound...thus rendering him invisible. All he has to do is block scent and that would actually be a very bad arse suit indeed. It seems the artist took inspiration from the Tron varaint cover because that's what I thought it was at first. Apparently not.
I am digging how smart Peter is being portrayed - thank you! I mean I love Bendis, but in Avengers..Spidey comes off as an idiot more often then not. In reality, we see him applying what he learned when he worked with Tony and some of Hank Pym's theories. Dude...he should be hanging with the brain trust! If anything, his moral compass would keep the science guys in line [nod nod]. Now here is my only issue...the retcon of high heaven.
I Still have no idea what exactly was erased or changed in Spidey's past. Apparently he still worked for Tony and lived in the Avengers Tower. Question - how is that even possible? I mean think about it...why would Tony let Peter Parker live in Avengers Tower with his family? The way the devil deal worked is no one knows his identity...meaning Tony doesn't recall Peter being Spiderman, so obviously something had to change. I always assumed Peter did work for Tony but the whole Avengers thing was cut out. But now retcon says he did live in the Tower and worked with Tony because....yeah...Tony was open to letting civilians live in Avengers Tower...riiiiight. Oh well, because of brain!delete I doubt Tony could confirm or deny the retcon.
Iron Man/Thor: God Complex #2.
Kick butt action...Tony apparently being chosen to be the vessel of the new god...which throws out the Torrun origin theory I liked- awwww. But all in all, I can't wait for part three. One thing to note is I guess the armor has spandex mode...lol. Hey Tony has a new superhero costume! XDDDDD Well, deffinately better then straight gold mesh I suppose 8D Bad news is we have to wait til Jan. 5 for the next part....awwwwww.
Finally we come to Invincible Iron Man #32
Oh man...where to begin? I suppose my first question would be about Pepper's RT tech. So...this is the thing that was once removed from her chest and then placed back in. Question...WHY would you wire that thing to be in any way connected to your vital organs if you don't need it to. Point two - if the problem was just shutting off the power or disconnecting it...why not do that? Apparently according to the first arc of the Avengers, Tony can disconnect from his RT and not die...so what the heck? Also I am having a hard time believing that a news crew can capture images of Team Ironman and not somehow get the gigantic Detroit Steel on film....eyes comic logic]
Next...OMG Sentient J.A.R.V.I.S. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! D8 that is usually a bad thing! I predict JARVIS tries to off Tony in jealous rage XD Another point....those things Pepper sees in things "yet to come" or whatever. [peers] Don't they look eerily similar to the War of the World things in Steve's vision? If you look at them...really look at them, especially the one in the distance...doesn't the profile look eerily similar. O_o' so wait...is this proof Steve told Tony? If that be the case...omg yeahs!
\(^0^)/ Come on Fraction don't let me down! Luckily we'll get to see the next part this week [waggles eyebrows] I am pumped to see what happens.
One thing I do have to say..."Our mess. Our clean-up. No Hill. No Avengers." Are you !@#$ing serious, Tony?! You are about to go BOOM and you are a bit too prideful to go...um Thor, can you send a powerful lighting bolt near Seattle...I need to fry at least 10,000 drones k'thanks. I mean not surprising but...I was hoping you'd somehow learn to ask for help...but hey even Hill is going (-_-)' idiot...
