Ahh...I get it now.
Sometime last year or so, I commented on the whole 616!Tony vs. movie/RDJ!Tony and stating how I went from not seeing a major difference to seeing a few major ones to now understanding what makes comic!Tony...well Tony.
I'm just going to say it now...I miss 616!Tony in the Steve/Tony fandom. I've been trying to catch up on fics on the comm/tumblr/Ao3 and I have to say how somewhat sadden I am at the sheer amount of movie!verse fics. Sure, I got how it's easier to get into the fandom via movie!verse then trying to sift through the ever changing continuity of 616...but dude...at this point I think I might even miss 1610 fics. [sigh] Maybe it's because the utter lack of fic material 616 hasn't provided....yeah? I think I was the only one who did anything with Fear Itself...and that it wasn't even a true 616 fic but a mash-up of MA...which is so odd...
So, Tony falling off the wagon generated nothing...so maybe Tony quitting will do something to the fandom? Heck, I'll jump back to 7207 (noir) if I have to! [waves banner] Point is...I just miss reading about a Tony with more character. You watch...I'm going to start doing a tid-bit of fanart to entice people back to 616. We are dealing with the Dark Avengers currently in Avengers/New Avengers...Steve's been put through the ringer...Tony is dealing with the aftermath of F.I. We get the conclusion of Children's Crusade this week guys! Anyone at least a little inspired?
