EDIT: To sign up for the Reverse Bang or not...[ponders] I got till January 19 to make up my mind?
Man I just feel exhausted...life can be...life, no? I'm still reeling in the disappointment that is Merlin Season 4 finale...and now I reel in disappointment that is the Wizards of Waverly Place Finale...and the somewhat disappointment that was Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Seriously, big hugs to
grand_duc for listening to all my complaints.
Anyways, while I am still stuck in fandom limbo trying desperately to claw my way back to the Avengers (when the !@#$ is A:EMHs S2 supposed to start?) I browsed through some comics (Children's Crusade) and need to catch up (Avengers #20, IIM)...and there is now a giant list of Steve/Tony ficcage that begs to be read...and if I am being honest, I need to go back and read some Big Bang stuff (>_>) but there is also a giant pile of books that I need to read...and some artwork I should do - yada yada [falls over and falls asleep] Zzzzzz I think I mostly just want to kick back and watch some movies...or go to the movies BUT ANYWAYS...on to the funny thing...
So, I was standing in line for the ATM at my bank when all of a sudden I start thinking of the Iron Man movie theme "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath - which is fine...sometimes music randomly plays in my head. But then, it was like I could really hear it and I even caught myself bobbing my head to the beats, and of course I stop because looking a bit nuts is not my top priority. I shake my head and then look forward since I was next in line, and then Obadiah Stane was in right front of me...or at least a guy that looked eerily similar to Jeff Bridges complete with bald head, matching outfit and graying goatee/beard.
Of course with my geek/fandom brain hijacks my body, the next thing that came out of my mouth was "Ohmygod, STANE!" The guy looks at me with a wtf and quickly walks to his car [snirks] where I KID YOU NOT..."Iron Man" is playing full volume on the stereo. My hijacked body smiles like a loon as I watch the guy drive off and I chuckle madly to myself, carrying on with my business. So you see...the universe wants me back in the Marvel fandom too...though I rather have met Tony then Stane. Though, I am also willing to see Steve - or Hawkeye.
Why Hawkeye? Jeremy Renner was amazing in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol! I I swear, the character William Brandt is pretty much exactly how I picture movie!Clint will be in the Avengers. I think that's what made me enjoy the movie even more. It was like a prelude to what will hopefully be an amazing flick...even though I am trying to keep my expectations low. But seriously, if you haven't seen MI:4...go see it. Not just for Hawkeye, but because the team chemistry was spot on. Kick-ass female character, funny comic relief and good old fashion action with pretty nifty gadgets. I would LOVE to see that team work together in another movie.
Speaking of movies...
I must have been out of it when someone was talking about MIB 3 - because there was the trailer for it right before Sherlock. I'm sort of so-so on the plot of jumping back through time, mainly because a similar plot actually occurred in the animated cartoon. That in itself made me blink because - wow - are they really trying to make MIB into a franchise after so long? On the other hand, look at MI:4...so for all I know this installment could be amazing!
Then there was the trailer for "Jack the Giant Killer" aka Jack and the Beanstalk...and seriously, the fairytale flicks keep coming. [sideways glance] Well, Red Riding Hood from what I heard didn't do so hot, and neither did Beastly. Chris Hemingsworth is supposed to be in the Snow White one...what was it...the something and the Huntsman? [shakes head] But yeah...I guess Holywood is going to latch on to the Fairytale thing. If I recall correctly, Jeremy Renner was already in a Hansel and Gretal type of thing already...so [chuckles] maybe Evans will be in the next one? I call Sleeping Beauty as the next one they try to tackle.
I guess studios are just trying to grasp for the next franchise since HP ended and Twilight is ending. I know the Hunger Games and the Hobbit is coming our way. [tilts head in thought] Hmmm...I wonder what will be the next book series to turn movie. I'm all for Ranger's Apprentice...[waves flag]. But yeah...lots of fun movies coming out. Can't say the same for TV shows though.
What about you guys...any tv shows/movies/books you are waiting on?
