allcanadiangirl:
a. Post a list of 10 TV fandoms/shows you follow (current or canceled!)
b. Have your friends list guess your favorite CHARACTER from each show
c. When guessed bold the line and write a sentence about why you like that character (yes, this meme is a clever excuse to ramble)
d. Post in your own livejournal (optional because not everybody is fen but everybody can still guess).
1. Gilmore Girls: Christopher Hayden, guessed by
mrsjamiewitter. When I first started watching the show, I was just as enamored of the Luke/Lorelai relationship as the average user. But the longer I watched, and the more appearances there were by Rory's dad, the more intrigued I became. As time has passed, Christopher has made some less than stellar decisions, and he hasn't been the best dad to Rory. But I still find him--along with Lorelai's mother Emily--to be the most compelling characters on the show. He's one of the few people who doesn't always roll over and put up with Lorelai's crap, and that will always endear him to me.
2. Everwood: Bright Abbott, guessed by
trixalicious. Yes, as anyone who reads my LJ should know, Bright is the love of my Everwood life. Although the character annoyed me in the early episodes of S1, he quickly grew into a nuanced, compelling character. Chris Pratt has deftly taken what could have been a one-note, stereotypical character and transformed him into a well-rounded, surprising, endearing character.
3. CSI: Greg Sanders, gueassed by
mspooh. I started watching CSI the summer between seasons 1 and 2, and I soon became obsessed. From the first show I watched, goofy lab tech Greggo has been my favorite. He's funny and brilliant and geeky, and just so many things that I find attractive. Plus, he's cute as all get out. :)
4. Veronica Mars: Logan Echolls, guessed by
trixalicious. Logan was my first love on VM, although that might not have been the case if I had seen the Pilot before any other episodes. I know that Logan is an asshat, but he's a layered asshat, and that's what I love about the character. Again, it's a case of an actor--Jason Dohring, in this case--transcending the confines of a typical TV character.
5. Crossing Jordan
6. Alias: Julian Sark, guessed by
trixalicious. My reasons for loving Mr. Sark were simple at first: he's hot, he has an accent, and he carries a gun. What's not to love. Of course, the idiots in charge have done their best to emasculate my once-badass TV boyfriend, but he's still cooler than Vaughn.
7. Numb3rs: Charlie Eppes, guessed by
mspooh. The fact is, I've always liked David Krumholtz. I thought he was adorable as Bernard the Head Elf in The Santa Clause, and he cracked me up 10 Things I Hate About You. That said, I have absolutely no idea when he became so smoking hot. I think it's the eyes. And the hair. As for Charlie, I've always been attracted to intelligence, so liking this genius of a character is, well, a no-brainer for me. Even though Rob Morrow as older brother Don Eppes is all sorts of awesome, too.
8. Firefly
9. Stargate SG-1
10. Keen Eddie: Monty Pippen, guessed by
trixalicious. Sure, Mark Valley (as Eddie Arlette) definitely shines as the star of the show, but my heart was stolen by the red-headed British badboy. Julian Rhind-Tutt is about eight kinds of pretty, plus he's funny as hell. He's the perfect foil to Mark Valley's square-jawed leading man.
Watched Veronica Mars last night, and absolutely adored it, of course. Still have no idea who killed Lilly or raped Veronica, but I sure am loving the journey.
