Bring on the objective sports, please!
I was all ready to come in this morning and rant and rave about how much the gymnastics brouhaha sucks, but instead I have decided to focus on the positive.
1) Alexei Nemov, you are a class act. You deserved a higher score, and I'm sorry you didn't get a medal in your final Olympics. Also, please take off your shirt. :)
2) Morgan Hamm, you're adorable and so supportive of your brother in all his success. Sorry you didn't get an individual medal.
3) Paul Hamm, you ROCK. I don't know how you got up and did your routine with the crowd making all that (negative) noise. That's the heart of a champion. And you are a champion--you earned that gold medal, and all those who disagree can shove it up their asses.
So, Monday is Stargate SG-1 night on the Sci-Fi Channel, and I watched parts of all four episodes in between Olympic events that I care about. I would just like to say that I have never been a fan of a possible Sam/Jack relationship. Not only is the subordinate/superior issue rather squicky and wrong, but also--no offense to MacGyver--Daniel is much yummier. That said, during one of the eps last night, they were caught in a time loop, and Jack used it to--just for a day--resign his commission and sweep Sam into a kiss. And it was really, really cute.
