I must say, Bradley Cooper was looking exceptionally yummy during the opening scenes of last night's Touching Evil. I think I was one of approximately six people who liked the character of Will Tippin from the beginning of Alias, and I was sad to see him go. Sadly, I haven't caught all of his episodes as Mark Rivers, but I've enjoyed the ones I've seen. Last night's in particular was a stand-out. His grief at finding his brother dead in the park was amazingly acted by Bradley. I so wanted to reach through the TV screen and give him a hug, and not just because he's a hottie with pretty blue eyes. :) And when the creepy grief counselor stabbed him, I was sitting there saying to the TV, "No, not Rivers!"
One interesting thing about the episode was it's shift in focus away from Creegan. Yes, he was still a part of it, and I loved the storyline with his anguish over his daughters, but for once I didn't feel like he was the center of the episode. It felt more like an ensemble last night.
And this might get me flayed, but the fact remains that I'm a 'shipper at heart. I love romance, particularly of the "friends evolving into more" variety. While I whole-heartedly agree that having anything happen now between Creegan and Branca would fall square in the category of "too much too soon," that doesn't mean I can't revel in the subtext. And of course, pray for fic! :) In the last episode, "Entropy," I loved the way that Creegan's eyes fixed on Branca's hand when she touched his shoulder to shut him up while she was on the phone. The same thing happened in "Boston," when she gripped his knee during the plane ride. I thought it was interesting that Branca evidently has a key to get into David's hotel room, and that he didn't seem surprised when she came in while he was in the tub. And the look on her face when Creegan was reunited with Holly and the girls was interesting--happy yet sad at the same time. Or am I reading too much into all this? :)
Incidentally, I still don't like Holly, and she has really bad bangs.
