Technology YAY

So I've finally caught up with the rest of the world, and bought myself a laptop. My desktop was purchased in 2001, and is not only outdated, but practically full and therefore very, very slow. Of course, this also meant that I needed to buy a wireless router and get a network set up, since what's the point of a laptop if you're stuck in one place? Actually getting it set up was a bit more challenging than I felt it should have been, but it's all good now.

Because, you know, I didn't spend enough time on the computer *already*.

In other news, I watched the season finale of Numb3rs last night, and...meh. It certainly didn't pack the same punch that "The Janus List" did last year. While it was nice to see Bug from Crossing Jordan again, it also felt like a rehash of a plot on CJ (where Bug was held and interrogated by Homeland Security). I can understand, to a degree, why Charlie felt he needed to send the rest of the files, but I'm not really sure how the repercussions will play out next season. He'll obviously get his security clearance back somehow, because otherwise the entire premise of the show is shot.

I'm also going to miss Diane Farr as Megan next season; I felt she was a strong addition to the show after the departure of Sabrina Lloyd (who I can barely remember being on the show). I hope that her replacement is equally strong...and maybe flirts with Colby. :)

Incidentally, there was *not* enough Colby in this episode. Boo.

Also watched the season finale of CSI, but I was trying to set up the wireless router at the same time, and I think I missed a lot of the details. That said, however, while I was spoiled that Gary Dourdan was leaving the show, I didn't really expect them to end his run so definitively. That said, it became clear that he was going to die when there was about ten minutes left, and the whole crew was leaving after breakfast. There was just a palpable sense of doom. I did sort of appreciate that the Undersheriff was the bad guy (seriously, has Conor O'Farrell ever played a good guy?), and I'll be interested to see how the hunt for Warrick's killer plays out next season.

And as weird as it is that the show has lost two original cast members this season, there's a part of me that feels they don't need to replace both of them. Maybe get another female (which they apparently have), but with Greg being a CSI these days, and Hodges being fairly prominent in the storylines, there's enough guys. Characters already get the storyline shaft too often as it is--why add more?

In my happy little deluded world, I'm going to pretend that Warrick isn't dead, but that he just left Vegas and hooked up with Sara somewhere. :)
