I'm spending the whole day waiting for tomorrow. Tomorrow is the plane that will take me home. Today, the dining hall is closed (I didn't know it would be) and I have no food because I have no cash. I have spare change which I shall use at a vending machine when the moment of desperation strikes.

Oh well. Maybe you can ship me some cookies next time you're *in* the US. ^_^

The Food/Money problem actually got solved by a phone call from Mom shortly after I finished the post. It's why I've taken so long to reply. I was out getting food and comics and other stuff I was feeling deprived of earlier. (Ice cream! WHEEEEEE!!!SUGARRUSH OMG!!!FWEEEEE!!!)

I was actually trying to imply that it does take place during their year abroad. It's why they're together trying to bond and didn't bring Alfred along. And yes, they are repressive bats, but during that particular year, they were trying to reach out to one another. It's actually a love/hate thing I have about OYL. I love the fact that they went abroad to quell their demons and talk out their problems. I hate that we never got to actually see any of it. We see the effects, and that's wonderful. I like how close Tim and Bruce are now. I like that Bruce and Dick aren't angry at each other anymore. I like that Dick was close enough to Tim to pull him from the brink with that whole Lazarus pit ordeal. I just wish we could have gotten a few more glimpses of how they got there. The "exorcism of the bat-god" at the Buddhist cave was awesome, but I wanted more than that.

As for the moments in Tim/Cassie shipiness, I was gonna do that at some point anyway. The most obvious YJ Tim/Cassie moment (to me) is the Mr. Sarcastic quote: "See? Little minx can't keep her hands off me!".... as Cassie slams him into the wall.

I'll be in the US right after Christmas. Man, I'm so looking forwards to it. Nice weather, sun, plus, you know, English 24/7. And the food. There's a lot of stuff that we don't have here.

Glad you finally got fed. Food is generally a good thing. *grins* And ice cream rocks. Though...we're not exactly having the best weather for it. I assume the Florida weather is better suited for it.

I too read through 52 hoping to get some more Bat glimpses and was pretty disappointed. I dunno, maybe they'll do some Bat annual about their experiences abroad or something. I hope so. Because yeah, I like the effects, but I'd really like to see the actual scenes. They really mmissed out on a lot of great moments, there.

Christmas request? Um, sure! *grins* Hmm...Tim/Cassie. Should I throw out prompt ideas too? Um, telling the family. Morning after. Meeting up with friends not in the superhero business (I guess this would mean Tim's friends, since Cassie doesn't appear to have many associations outside her superhero life). Baby!fic. But I'm cool with anything. Wherever the muse takes you.

I completely forgot about that scene. I'll have to dig out YJ for that essay and reread it.

Yay for Christmas and English! That lovely language that lurks in alleyways, drop-kicks other languages, and rifles through their pockets for spare vocabulary! I know what you mean about food, too. What I'm looking forward to is actually foreign food. At home, there's all kinds of restaurants. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Italian...all the stuff that I've been missing and can't get on campus. I can't wait!

Florida weather is muggy as all get out right now. There was one traffic corner where I needed to remind myself that it was technically physically possible to breathe.
