Supergirl is the new Mara Jade. I'm not kidding. This whole "You will kill Kal-el" shtick is giving me major Star Wars vibes. I like it though. It gives a reasonable explaination for a lot of behavior that I didn't like. Sorta like with Batgirl. I didn't like how her speach patterns automatically aligned and she started killing people. However, saying that Deathstroke gave her a super-soldier drug to *make* her do those things makes the plotline bearable. Previously, I hated the way that Supergirl was contantly avoiding Superman when all he wanted to do was help her and make sure she was okay. But saying that she has been "programmed" to assasinate him and stays away to keep from hurting him...I like that. "I love Kal-El. I hate myself...and that's not yours to have!" Beautiful.
Speaking of beautiful things...Powerboy. Kara may be flighty, but she definitely gets herself some cool boyfriends. Lately, I've really hated the overflow of new superheros outa 52, but this dude--he's pretty, he knows it, and that's not a bad thing. After getting to know him, you can forgive him his reputation.
