Title: Potential Victor
Rating: PG
Word Count: 81
Prompt: Tim/Cassie and um... Hunger Games AU.
“Rebel” is a word that flits through Cassie’s mind as Tim-such a simple straightforward name that makes no sense for a member of a Capitol prep team-bends down to whisper in her ear as he pretends to buff her nails.
“Before you ask, I’m doing it because we believe… I believe you can win… and you’ll need it.”
Cassie grits her teeth as her fingertip experiences an intense pressure, making way for a new fake fingernail and the lock-pick underneath it.

Prompt: Tim and Kara in a sorta after college How I Met Your Mother Trying to make it in the real world setting. If that doesn't make sense then just a College Graduation sorta thing. :)
She likes Tim’s family-no really, she does-but she’s really glad to not be Tim right now, what with him checking, checking, and checking again to make sure that he’s got all his awards, grades, extracurriculars and just everything sorted out, making absolutely sure that that he can tell his millionaire dad and his crazy brother that he really is suma cum laude.
Kara sighs, “You know curry-breath, they’ll be proud of you no matter what because they love you, like I do… you factored that in, right?”
He pauses for a moment-really freaking freezes-as he looks at her, and smiles like he’s finally remembered that one thing he forgot to do, and nobody’s more surprised than Kara when the tosses the planner aside, and ignores the pile of books between them, as he reaches into his pocket and gets down on one knee; the ring is diamond and the question in his eyes is priceless.

Title: Passing Grade
Rating: G
Word Count: 139
Prompt: Tim/Steph and they are studying
Most people think Steph would rather be playing quiditch, or sneaking off to Honeydukes with Cass, or just generally raising hell in the Gryffindor commonroom-and they’d usually be right-but today Steph couldn’t be more excited to be studying, or at least, in the library supposedly studying.
“I didn’t think you needed help with potions too, but we can go over amortentia and vitriolia once more since they’ll be on the test, like the vocab study we did for charms… would that be good?”
It all sounds good to Steph since she has no plans to do any of that today; she merely reaches across the table to the Head Boy Ravenclaw who has been obliviously (but sexily) helping her prepare for her O.W.L.S for the past month, and yanks him by his blue scarf into one very long-awaited kiss.

Title: Man-eater
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 269
Prompt: Riley/Syrena & mutual attraction
Two months ago, he didn’t believe in vampires. Two seconds ago, he didn’t believe in mermaids. But even with a hyper-sped mind and a flashy new set of senses, the world is still moving too fast for Riley and he struggles to take it in.
But take it in he does, and she’s no fish-tailed angel singing about true love from behind some well-placed rock. She’s scared and deadly and hauntingly lovely, a creature not unlike the one he’s become.
So when she rises up out of the deep, he unclenches his fists from the crumbling rocks and extends a hand. There is a sincerity to her that her sisters don’t have. An innocence that says she might extend a hand back in some sort of instantaneous and twisted sort of trust.
But if he’s wrong, and she yanks him down till the dark waters swallow him whole, he knows he will not go out with a whimper. She may bite, but he will bite back, and they will feed on each other till they are both no more than bones at the bottom of the sea.
Her fingers are damp and smooth. Her grip tentative.
They both hold their breath for a moment, left with the anticipation of what the other will do.
When she can bear the frozen motion no more, her fingers curl into his.
He breathes in her scent.
Ocean salt and luscious lily-water mixed with a dash of heaven and hell.
Good enough to drink, and sweet to savor.
He smiles and she shudders.
He reassures himself that it’s only because of the cold.

Title: Observance
Rating: PG
Word Count: 144
Prompt: Riley/Syrena, hope
He’s no more human than she. He’s some creature made of stone and ice, hard to read and unpredictable.
But for just a moment, he reacts like any other sailor, letting his eyes slide down her weak-legged form. He may not be a man, but he wants her like one. With all the youth and impetuousness and curiosity that brings men to her sister’s waters, leading them to their deaths.
She hasn’t decided if he’s worth sparing, only that she will not be a creature so eager to devour and consume like her kin. She wants to rise above, and so she lets her gaze slide demurely down.
Syrena maintains her mystery and keeps her watch, biding her time.
There’s a fierceness to him, but it’s held in check by something that just might make him worth saving.
She watches. Listens. Intently. Carefully…
Hopefully.
