There's a lot of legitimate criticism one can offer about Twilight, but one thing that really irks me is when folks go claiming that the characters (i.e. Edward) have no personality. What? Just because he's a cynical romantic, a judgmental telepath, a possessive stalker, an ancient adolescent, and a total virgin of a prettyboy, it must then be assumed that he lacks character? It really does irk me sometimes.
(Hmm... then again, I seem to have a thing for judgmental characters: Rorschach, Jace Wayland, Anita Blake, Hit Girl... hmm... but I digress. Oh, and stalkers like Tim Drake, Powerboy... but I digress again. )
So, I'm basically reccing this to myself to remind myself that sometimes haters gonna hate, but one of my favorite characters shines (or sparkles) as a fun character in his own right, apart from his status as a love interest or the cynicism of anyone else. Just a fun story of Edward being himself during one relatively uneventful evening.
