Transformers Opinions.
Perhaps this constitutes spoilerishness, but if that's the case, just don't proceed. It was... sucky. I was having fun at the beginning. Bumblebee made me laugh, the jokes were good, I was rolling along with the opening and set-up... but then I got to the middle. Around the middle, it just started sucking. There was plenty of show, but it was way, waaayyy out-balanced by the tell. And the autobot dialogue... dear Lord. There is a proper way to be corny and an improper way to be corny. To do it properly in this modern age, you must mock yourself for your own corniness. If you do not, you get TF2 and suckage.
Soo... the upsides? Purely fannish. Shia looked hot; the soundtrack was sweet; I liked the Sam/Mikaela, and the moments between Sam and Bumblebee were pretty golden. Makes me wanna read gen of 'em.
