3 Drabbles... and about time.
Wow. Finally posting something productive. How astonishing. Anyway, three drabbles for you all to enjoy this morning. Dig in!

Never Imagined (100 words // Jack Drake)
Jack Drake can count all of the thirteen times he has ever had blood on his hands... and that includes a papercut in his senior year of high school. He's never had his hands full-out covered with it, though. Never drenched in it. Not like this. Not holding a woman together in a make-shift clinic while Dr. Thompson stitches her up one loop at a time. The good doctor moves surely and steadily as the gang war rages around them. It's humbling, frightening, and awe-inspiring. He's helping keep these people alive. This particular group is alive thanks to his son.

Full Admiration (120 words // Edward Cullen post-BD)
Edward Cullen remembers his former sullen self as his two loves twirl before a mirror.
His soul stands with their daughter, adjusting bows on their poodle skirts in a game of dress-up.
Even back in 1957, Edward had thought the poodle skirt rather fetching, but it was an empty admiration, with no woman to admire in it.
His earlier self had emptily admired a lot of things, and had lacked appreciation for even more. Kisses, off-color jokes, differing opinions, brown eyes, and stories ending in happily ever after.
He used to laugh at fairy tales because he thought them completely impossible. Now, he laughs because they have but one inaccuracy.
Edward now knows that the true happy endings never end.

Post-fact Thief (83 words // James T. Kirk)
Jim promised his mother that when he got his first paycheck as captain, he would pay for his step-father's stolen antique. Even when the funds fully transmitted--and were higher than even he was anticipating--it was still surprisingly hard to send the money. It felt like saying "I was wrong." The young captain told himself that it was more an apology to the car than to the man. It was a beautiful car, undeserving of its fate.. That made him feel better.
