Are you shivering because they look wrong in his hands.... or because they look right?
He was twirling the twin sais in his hands and moving through some simple forms... but even then the points glinted in a deadly manner, reflecting on his grim and thoughtful face. Cassie simply watched.
He had become so fluid in his movements and more confident in the power he put behind them. That was what everyone else saw. She saw the conflict. Tim had debated with himself for weeks on weather he wanted to include more sharp weapons into his arsenal. There was no arguing that the world was getting harsher. Raven had grown a little more cold and a little more distant and her emotions were set to reflect the feelings of the city.
Cassie was Wonder Woman now.
But Tim wasn't Batman yet.
But he wasn't saying he never would be anymore. Cassie had noticed that.
Cassie had also noticed that his college studies were leaning towards biology, with a specific interest in cloning.
Tim had explained that it was simply an easier course-load for him since he already had so much background in the subject. Cassie accepted that as truth.
She simply didn't accept it as the only truth.
Cassie noticed when Tim did these things.
Cassie noticed that Tim noticed she was talking to Ares again.
Cassie told him that it wasn't that she needed Ares, really... he just wasn't someone you wanted as an enemy.
She knew Tim accepted it as truth.
She also knew that Tim didn't accept it as the only truth.
Cassie was aware that all these things seemed to lead towards a future she had seen before.
But when Tim was done, striding up to her with a sweaty kiss and placing a gentle hand at her rapid pulse, she allowed herself to be deluded.
