In memory...

I'm a firm believer that God uses the crappiest of situations to create wonderful opportunities that we wouldn't otherwise have, to help us see past the original situation and to also give us hope. Today Meredith Holbert-Rankin, after a 2 year battle with cancer, passed away. If you would like to know more about her journey, you can find it here:

Meredith was an amazing, Godly woman who I had the joy of knowing for 3 years of college and leading her in a women's Bible study for one of those years. She was fun, goofy, and caring, and although I only knew her for a small portion of her life, she has made a lasting impression on mine. I knew that she was fighting cancer for some time now, but didn't realize the full extent. I had even thought she was in remission due to how beautiful and healthy she appeared in her photos! I found her journal a few weeks ago, and was so deeply touched by the growth in her faith and her family's full belief that God had the power to work a miracle in ridding her body of cancer. Her journal has inspired me to make some greater strides in my own walk with God, and I'm sure that her story reached out to thousands of others. Although she lost her battle with cancer, I know she is in Heaven now and I'm praying for her husband, Justin, her family, and all of her wonderful best friends who have stood by her side throughout the last 2 years.
