Prayer Request

Two weeks ago my Mom fell and really hurt her face and hand. Our family doctor did x-ray's and CT-Scan of her head, he saw a spot there that caused him concern so he sent her to spend the night at the hospital and have an MRI. My Mom can't do the closed MRI's so she had to wait until the next morning to do the open one. That evening our DR called and said that the good news was it was not a bleeder but the bad news was the there was a growth at the base of her brain. He sent a neurosurgeon by to see us -- the short of what he said - Calcium deposits that formed a benign tumor at the base of her brain, it would continue to grow over time and could cause problems with motor skills, she needed to have surgery and remove it. We wanted another opinion.

Another long story, we got an appointment with a highly recommended doctor. We got the message late Monday night that we could see him Wed, AM. He said that it did need to come out, it is in a small part of her brain that does not allow room for it to grow much anymore and is also close to some major veins that do not need to be disrupted. He said he would not know for sure that it was not in the way of the vein until he went in but did not think so. He said if it was his family member he would tell them to have it removed, the risk of surgery was not very big. I really liked him, he has a great reputation and it probably the very best to do this.

So my Mom is having surgery Monday, AM. The following is the details on how you can please join us in praying for her:

-Surgery Monday morning Feb. 13, 2006
-that God will be with the DR. before and during the surgery, giving him sure hands and the knowledge he needs
-the Dr. said that it was probably a benign tumor but could be something else. Pray that it is not disrupting her veins or that it is not malignant (only a VERY small chance it even could be)
-Pray that they get all of it out and that it does not come back
-My aunt is traveling over from MS to be here - please pray that she has a safe trip
-Pray for peace over the next few days for my Mom.
-Pray for my dad, brother & sister-in-law and their 4 children, and me as we are going through this time - that we are all able to have peace and rest while waiting

He said that straight after surgery she will go straight to Neuro-ICU and spent the night there, Tuesday be moved to a room and Wed. go home. We are to be at the hospital at 5:30 Monday morning and do not know yet what time the surgery will be.

I just wanted to ask anyone reading this to send up special prayers this weekend.

Thank you so much.
