It's been a while since I got here, but I still haven't remembered anything yet. It's really weird, 'cause a bunch of people remember me, but I don't know any of them. Did I forget that, too, when I came here? I hope I can remember everyone again!

Valentines' Day last year, the island bound people together by an invisible magical string, so they couldn't break contact at all for a week. It only happened between 2 people, and you could let go of one hand if you were touching your other hands, that kind of thing.

The year before, everyone was bewitched into feeling compelled to write love letters.

...Actually, it appears to simply be a foreign holiday centered around the theme of romantic love.

I don't think I've ever heard of a holiday like that before... Oh, but I guess if I had, I wouldn't remember, huh?

It's hard to say. Some general knowledge, like the words "holiday" and "festival" are retained when our memories are erased, but for some, the world they grow up in is so drastically different, that 'blank slate' they start from isn't so blank. Some residents seemed to know right away who "Santa Claus" was, for example.

I'm still trying to pin that one down, as well, but it definitely is related to gift-giving. You give presents to your friends and family; some people give out small gifts to strangers, as well.

*tugs lightly on the awesomely ridiculous black tie w/ pink skulls on it, hanging from his neck* ...I signed up for an anonymous gift exchange, and received this from someone I hadn't met yet. I've since met with the gifter, though.
