For my second day of work I got to assist in a surgery to spay a puppy named Mercedes. It was so odd watching the doctor cut into her, I was fascinated and freaked out all at once. But all those Bio 112 dissections sure came in handy! I actually recognized things before the doctor could name them for me! It was amazing how he was able to do so much in just a three inch incision! I didn't feel faint or anything either, which I was really afraid I would. Tomorrow I have to get there early to prep a dog for back surgery, I think. Or is that Friday? Oh well, the point is that it rocks doing surgery and stuff. The Schizo siamese cat, Mercedes (different from the now spayed puppy), kept trying to swat me through the bars of her kennel cage while I was taking care of her newest neighbors, a big fluffy cat and a small, elderly one. Good thing that cat is de-clawed and has bad aim, it would've been annoying if it hadn't tickled so much. There are a couple of other regulars and long-term boarders that have almost too much personality. Sassy, the clinic cat, is probably the laziest creature I've ever seen. I think I saw her move a total of three times today. Duffy, a sweet little Carin (a dog breed) that's been blind since birth barks like crazy while you give him a walk, almost like he just has so much to tell you. There's an evil cockatiel that bites anything remotely human, and a set of greyhounds that have never been house trained. We have to clean out their kennel a lot. Oh, and the tinkle dog that peed on me yesterday missed me today, he hit the doctor's shoe instead.
