So this past week has been an interesting one, aside from being deathbed sick that is. Thursday I stayed home from work to go to the doctor and get some necessary running around done (like picking up cat food and getting the new sticker for my license plate). But by Thursday night I was so fed up with being sick that I dragged my snotty keester out to Karaoke. It started off fairly normally with Adam, Alex and I sitting around taking in the sights and sounds of our normal Thursday night haunt but as the night went on I began to feel more and more brash. I made my way back to “talk” to Troy for a little bit and ended up meeting yet another one of his deaf friends, the difference was that this guy could speak and read lips. I introduce myself and he looks to Troy and says “she’s pretty cute” signing and speaking. Troy stats to laugh and I must have changed quite a few different shades of red so when buddy looks back to me I tell him that “I can hear you”, I know it may not seem like it now but at the time it was freakin hilarious. Later on that night after Andy joined us, Tim and Jon also showed up. While this could have been disastrous it was actually not too bad . . . after I calmed down Adam of course. The mood remained very relaxed and jovial through out the rest of the night. By closing time we said our goodbyes and Alex, Adam, and I went over to 7-11 where I had spotted a good looking artsy type filling out surveys on the counter. Well the hottie was still there when we arrived and I did my best to flirt it up while Adam made stupid faces. I was ready to kill him, Adam that is. So when dropping him off, I proceeded to chase him around the vehicle with the hopes of teaching him some respect!! I don’t think it stuck! Friday for the most part was uneventful. After work I sent out an impassioned plea for someone to come and save me from monotony and my prayers were answered by Jason with one simple word . . . Sushi. We dined on such a variety of food and were treated to quite a bit of it free, due to their major time delay on the rice. Once home again I began the daunting task of setting up my new home theater system which ended in fits of rage and frustration but finally I was listening to Groove in stereo surround sound! A feast for the ears indeed! Now Saturday it had been my plan to follow Andy and Adam around the town to go dancing and the like, now I was a little less than enthused that our final destination was to be cowboys but I was willing to make the sacrifice to spend time actually out and about. We all met at BP’s for a brief moment of Karaoke, and by we I mean Rachelle, Jamie, Adam, Andy, Chelsea, Chanelle, and Andy’s friend Chris, and then were whisked away downtown to the ever popular, ever trashy, Cowboys. I ended up having to get Andy to work his magic on the bank machine for me as he is known as the guru of bank machines and my card was being troublesome. It was neat how readily he helped me, there’s something about the way he looks at me that makes me feel really good, I know he’s a snob and only goes after the “perfect” girl but when he looks at me I have a feeling that somewhere down in that cold British heart he may just harbour the slightest attraction to me. Anyways, I digress. Annoyed by the high volume of floozies and their lack of clothing Rachelle and I decided that we were going to switch the venues and head down to the Alley, Jamie following me like a lost puppy decided to join us. We arrived at the alley to see their massive line ups and after waiting for about 10 minutes decided again on a change of venue. Flying up to the Rusty Cage, the 3 of us laughed and chatted. Poor Jamie had to listen to mine and Rachelle’s ranting but it was still fun. We had a bit of a wait at the cage but nothing like what we would have faced had we stayed at the Alley. At the cage we ran into my neighbours, Darryl and Chris. Darryl was well beyond toasted and Chris was boarder line. We hung out at chatted with them for the remainder of the night. After the bar I went to drop Rachelle off at home but again we changed our minds and quickly we were off again for drinks with the beyond drunk Darryl. We sat with him and attempted to watch V for Vendetta but were pretty much unable to concentrate by this point. Rachelle went home and though I should have gone too, I stayed a bit longer . . . long enough to find out that Darryl is actually a pretty good kisser. Sunday was then spent on the couch and then at Craig and Rachelle’s where we had Chinese food and a highly whiney evening. I then went home and Harley and I watched TV till it was time to go to bed. So that was my weekend. I had a blast!! It really did wonders for myself esteem being followed around by Jamie, catching Andy’s eye and well making out with Darryl didn’t hurt anything either.
