The Good, The Bad, and The Disgusting

The Good:
I love teaching Sunday school at Trinity church. My group (five 4th and 5th grade girls)has a lot of fun and grow together spiritually. It has only been two weeks and we are getting very close. We talk about stuff that is going on in their lives. One girl was being verbally bullied and said she didn't want to go back to school. I shared some of the rough times that I went through when I was young and the whole group encouraged her, prayed together about it, and came up with solutions using wisdon from the Bible. It was an amazing time. :) I find it awesome that are learning about huge topics like Creationism and Spiritual warfare and they get it.

I got a 98 on a group presentation that seemed to rule my life a couple weeks ago. I'm glad it's over.

The Bad:
Over the weekend I was having a lot of mood swings. When I got irritated, I was acting like a super biotch to Craig and I couldn't snap out of it. It was weird. I'm glad he is so forgiving and sweet (he still bought me Sweetest Day flowers :).

The Disgusting:
Yesterday was my first clinical day in the ER. I ran around looking for my nurse most of the time. She was too busy to stop and teach me, which was understandable but still frustrating. I got a chance to practice getting in some catheters. I got one catheter in an obese lady which is really hard to do, trust me. The crap hit the fan with my next catheterization. A pregnant lady who needed a catheter. After inserting it, I told the patient and instructor that I thought it might be in the wrong place. They assured me that it was in the correct position. Guess what, I was right. The pregnant lady went into ultrasound where they confirmed her bladder was still full and yep, the catheter was in her vag. My instructor had to go correct it. I felt like an idiot for doing it. Next, they gave me a hard IV start on my first try at it . I couldn't get it. boo-urns for a bad day. Next week will be better, but I could use some encouragement and more practice. Any volunteers? haha.
