Damage control.

Chaos. Complete and utter chaos. Why didn’t that surprise me? This place attracted chaos. It was like some chaotic magnet.

I wasn’t sure how to deal with it this time around. Gunn was gone. Dead. By Illyria’s hand, if Harmony was to be believed. We were all shocked. I knew I wasn’t alone there. The sudden appearance of both Faith and Connor wasn’t ( Read more... )

Okay, so one minute Lorne is sort of being nice to me, not that he ever wasn't or anything, and the next minute I am being drug off by Angel. I dug in my heels (the good ones too, so he better not make me break one) and tried to get him to stop, but Angel was way to strong.

Now.

Now he was way to strong. This so wouldn't have been happening before.

“Harmony, if I could have just a few minutes of your time?”

"Ouch," I glared up at Angel once we reached the kitchen. I mean -- HE reached the kitchen. Wasn't like he gave me much of a choice or anything. "And ouch...that hurt. Human now remember? That is so gonna bruise you....you..."

I folded my arms and glared.

"What do you want?"

Good to see Harmony was as articulate as ever. And here I was afraid she might have lost her touch.

"I'd apologize, but I don't really want to. I thought I might start off by asking you what the hell you're doing here," I told her. Frank. Straightforward. No beating around the bush. I wasn't in the mood for that now. I also wasn't in the mood for any of Harmony's stories or her highly overrated innocent act, and hoped she might have picked up on that. If not, I would just have to make sure to cut her short and make it very clear that I had no tolerance for games.

"A concise, honest answer would be preferable, by the way," I added, before she had the chance to start in on anything long winded. "Then we can move on to the issue of Gunn and Illyria. But first things first. What are you doing in my hotel? I don't exactly recall inviting you. In fact, since I was hoping to never see you again, I'm positive I didn't."

"I..." I started with a huff. "And then....morning....cause the mirror...then the pink slip.....HUMAN....them or you.....hotel....ALL YOUR FAULT."

There ya go Angel, I smirked.

And my arm still hurt. A lot. Thanks bunches.

"Fine," I muttered, not happy about it. Cause I was gonna have to repeat it. Them. The words that actually hurt to say to Spike earlier. Cause stuff hurt now.

"I didn't have anywhere else to go."

Even after the time we'd spent together at Wolfram & Hart, I still hadn't learned to speak Harmony.

"Fine. I didn't have anywhere else to go."

An honest answer. At least it sounded honest. Harmony was a better liar than people gave her credit for sometimes, though having her as my assistant had given me plenty of time to decipher her mannerisms and figure out just what was truth and what was fiction. This seemed to be genuine. A genuinely lame cop-out, but genuine. She wasn't here with some ulterior motive, as far as I could tell... and if she was? Well, we'd just smack that down before she had the chance to cause even more trouble.

On an almost entirely unrelated note, I couldn't help noticing that she was a little less... dead than when I'd seen her last. She was definitely human again.

Now isn't that interesting ( ... )

I ran my fingers through Cordy's hair a few times, pressin' her against the wall a bit and grinnin' before I kissed her throat, workin' my way up t'her lips.

Saw her eyes and sighed.

"Right, right. Got t'go fetch Harm," I sighed, pullin' out a fag, lightin' it, and takin' a deep drag t'calm myself. Bugger.

"Just you remember, Sexy, that I'm not 'bout t'go 'round waitin' much longer for you. I mean, rather, I am, only I'm tired of waitin' and..." I rolled my eyes at myself. "Fine, then. Let's go."

We trudged along till we came upon Angel and Harm yellin', and I pushed Gramps aside. "Sorry. Wes' orders and all. Got t'interrogate Harm... possibly torture her if needed." I winked at Angel, since it always made me happy t'see him all riled up, and I quickly yanked Harm - carefully, though, seein' as how she wasn't a vamp anymore - and walked off with her.

"If you have a problem, take it up with Percy!" I yelled over my shoulder.

And like that, ponce wouldn't be able t'blame anythin' on me for a change.
