Back from Hawaii

Sep 11, 2007 16:02

Well I have survived my first day back at work, after my famil to Hawai'i.

The trip was great.  I was able to get business class there and back.  It certainly made the flight go alot faster.

The trip was tiring, my feet and legs are sore from all the walking.  I have a little bit of a tan.  But over-all I learnt lots and had a good time.  Just really very tired because there were many late nights and early mornings combined.  We had to be up at 4.30am to be able to check out of the hotel and drop off the rental cars, then check in at the airport.

If you like shopping (which unfortunately I don't) then you can get some great bargins at Ala Moana shopping centre.  Which is huge!!  It's about a 30 minute walk from Waikiki or a 5-10 minute bus ride.

The Pearl Harbour and the USS Arizona Memorial was profound, beautiful and sad all rolled into one.  Please don't hold the memorial up against the movie Pearl Harbour (ack).

Waikiki Beach was gorgeous, but just choc full of people.  I still got to swim there though.  The prettiest hotel we visited was The Westin's Moana Surfrider.  Which was the first hotel built on Waikiki.  It was just lovely. With lovely big Lanai's and rocking chairs, to people watch.  A beautiful entry way with a crystal chandalier and sweeping staircase.

I can't wait to finish work at 5pm.

hawaii, famil
