Ouch with the exercise

I went to sword practice Monday night..as was able to stay there for the whole training.  I had lots of fun, and it was great to finally get a sword in my hand.  But goodness my sholders, arms, back, and legs hurt!

I felt like an utter dork, and very unco-ordinated.  One of the guys Matt got stuck with teaching me the basics, he's already skilled with a sword, so he got stuck teaching the newbie. :P

Nick also mentioned that they are organising a Winter tourney in Wellington.  I think the dates that were mentioned was the 18th and 19th of August.  You don't have to fight, but you can go down as 'support'.  I should have my 16th Century Tudor dress completed.  I may try to make something in a 16th Century Italian style as well.  Nick mentioned they don't mind 'crossdressers' so if I wanted to create some masculine garb then that would be okay. :)

I went to Taupo for a break away with Luke.  While I didn't get much rest...grr with the working during the night and sleeping through the day...then trying to reverse that on my days off...it was still nice to get out of Auckland.  The weather wasn't that great, but it was that great round the rest of New Zealand as well. Poor flooding up north.  Glad nothing to bad happened in Dargaville.

I have been totally lazy about making a costume.  I have had all these plans and have done diddly squat!

Still haven't brought my silver pass for Wellington Armageddon, will need to head into the city to buy it...I'm not paying a huge delivery fee..what a joke.

I am looking forward to the new job.  It's with the Wholesale team or Holidays support..I will be doing backround stuff.  It may mean that I travel on some famils as well. (I hope so..that would be sooo cool)   Although they may not let me being in the secondment position..*shrugs* hopefully it will go to permanent.

I don't think my brother is keen that I am shifting back to day shift.  He likes the fact that he can use my car while I am sleeping.  If I am at work during the day, he will have to go back to using public transport.  Although if he requires the car for a doctors appointment or something important, then I will make the deal with him that he can have the car for the day but he would need to drive me too and from work.  Yeah I know that's a bit harsh..since I work on the shore and live in Mt Albert..but still, it's my car.. :P selfish much??

I keep on looking at my bedroom, it's an utter mess.  Plus I have lots of fabric that needs to washed. *sigh*

I am usually really excited about this time of year.  It's time for Armageddon...but I am getting a bit blase about them.  It's getting to the point that I am enjoying meeting up with the friends that I have made through Armageddon, but the event itself is totally lacking in ...something.  It's hard to explain.  I am very very tempted to save up my money and go to a San Diego Comic Con or a Dragon*con, or a Collectormania in the UK.
