Did you Know:::
Jesus was turned in by one of His close friends and disciples.
All of Jesus' disciples deserted Him the night He was arrested.
The guards blindfolded Jesus and punched Him.
Jesus never said or did anything to defend Himself while the guards were beating Him.
The guards made fun of Jesus and spit on Him.
The religious leaders had Jesus beaten in their presence. One official hit Jesus in the face.
Jesus was handed from one politician to another because they didn't want to deal with Him.
His own people wanted Jesus killed and an accused murderer released from jail, rather than the other way around.
Jesus was whipped (flogged). The whip probably had nine leather strands with bits of metal or bone embedded in the ends. The whip was flung onto the person's back--so that all the sharp objects stuck--and then pulled down to tear the skin and muscles off the back.
A robe was stuck on Jesus' raw back to mock Him as a king.
The "crown of thornes" was most likely made of stiff, two- or three- inch thorns that stuck right into Jesus' head.
Jesus was forced to carry His own cross. Crossbeams alone weighed forty (40) pounds. The cross was made of very rough wood, and rested on Jesus' torn back as He carried it.
Jesus had a big spike pounded through each wrist and one through both feet.
The cross was lifted by soldiers and dropped into a hole in the ground, tearing Jesus' flesh around the spikes.
Death on a cross occurs by suffocation-- the victim can't breathe.
Jesus had to hang His weight on the spikes in His wrists until He needed a breath. Then He'd push up on the spike in His feet, scraping His back against the wood, just to take a breath.
The whole time Jesus hung on the cross people made fun of Him.
Jesus may have been naked on the cross.
Jesus could have said at any moment, "OK, that's enough." He could have chosen to stop what was happening to Him.
The soldiers pierced Jesus' side with a spear after He was dead.

If this is what you want, don't put it off any longer. Jesus is standing with His arms wide open, waiting for you to make your choice. Make the right one. Make as soon as you can. You're not guranteed tomorrow. Don't put salvation off any longer. If you could have seen the campers faces in class while Lindsay was reading those facts, you would have cried. I almost did. It's amazing what the truth can do. I'm not forcing anything. But what do you have to lose if you choose to live for Christ? If there is no God and no Heaven and Hell, then it's just something to fill spots in our imaginations. But if it's true, and you haven't accepted and believe, then I'm sorry that you'll spend eternity in fire. It's just something to think about...
