Web Comics III

o_O; Did Bill Holbrook (writer of Kevin & Kell) seriously comment on my LJ? If that's for real: Damn. If it's not: Good prank, someone. You got me.

Now for the last in this little series, and a shorter post at that. I'll talk about four that update sporadically (or not at all at this point), two that are officially done, and, as a bonus, one that I'm currently reading the archives of.

No Rest for the Wicked
This comic takes fairy tales and turns them on their head. As such, I love it. The characters, while figures from fairy tales, are original, amusing, and well-written. The art is pretty good, and the story has always been engaging enough to keep me interested, despite the fact that the comic's updates can be incredibly random. The creator has recently resolved to do better about updating, but she's resolved this several times, so we'll see how that goes. Hopefully she does this time, because I really adore this comic. You should go read it. Like, now.

Fallen
I've almost given up on this one ever updating ever again. I really like the art, the characters, and the story, but it's definitely the world that's made me hang on so long to this one. I really like it, but I don't recommend you read it, or you'll be trapped in the same boat as me, hoping that, one day, the creator might actually take interest again.

The Order of the Stick

If you don't play D&D, you won't get half of these jokes. If you do play D&D (or any kind of table-top RPG, really) you need to start reading this comic right now. I actually think this one updates fairly regularly, but I read it sporadically because it's one of the few comics I prefer to read in large chunks. But, yeah, this is a pretty awesome comic, and it's very amusing. It also has a board game out, which I think is weird.

Elf Only Inn

Of all the comics I read, this one has gone through the most drastic art and story changes. Originally it was a cut/paste comic, but now it's fully drawn. It updates randomly now though, so read through the archives if you'd like, but don't expect the latest story to be completed in any sort of hurry. Also, if you don't RP at all, then I don't recommend you bother. In the beginning, it focuses on post-by-post RPGs, then table top, and lately it's been dealing with MMORPGs. So, yeah. Take it or leave it.

And now, for the two comics that are done.

Boy Meets Boy
A gay comic. No, seriously. It's about the relationship between two men, and the lives of the people around them. It eventually spun off into Friendly Hostility, which I read for a while but don't any more. I used to really like this comic, but now I'm iffy on it. I like the characters that Friendly Hostility focuses on, but... eh. There's a reason I dropped its spin-off, and it's more or less the same reason I don't really recommend this one. However, if relationship-focused comics and stories are your thing, you'll probably like this comic.

Mixed Myth
The title is very apt. The entire point of this comic is to take fantasy cliches and warp them. It's very entertaining and if you like fantasy, you'll probably like this. It's a bit blatant about being anti-cliche at times, but it still provides for a few good hours of entertainment.

Lastly, I've been reading the archives of the comic Oh My Gods! It is hilarious and wonderful and you should go read it right now I don't care who you are or what your tastes. Seriously, no. It's that great. Go. Go now.

Though, I warn you, if you're not pagan and/or don't know much about the occult, you might be a bit lost at times.
Anyway, that wraps up this little rant about how I waste my time. Hope you all enjoyed and be sure to share your thoughts on the comics! I'd love to discuss them with people.
