Power Outage...
So Thursday night was interesting...Christina, Cori and I decided to do laundry and it was supposed to be done at about 10:30 or so...We had put our laundry in the Manchester basement bc our laundry room was full...At about 10:20, all the power in our building went out. Basically, everyone yelled Fuck and then got on the phone to call home...I started to smell some smoke and then I found out that the bathrooms started to smell like smoke too...Then at about 10:45, the fire alarms went off and they evacuated Hewett (my dorm) and Manchester
Christina and I decided to stay at her cousin Nick's because we didnt know how long they were going to keep us out of our building...To make a long story short, we found out there was a fire that started in our basement...They think it was an electrical fire which is why the power went out...The smoke from the fire got so bad, nobody was allowed back in the building so Lindz, Cori, Sarah, and Meg came to Nick's too and we ended up having a little party there with the guys and we didnt go to bed! We came home at 6am and then slept
At about 11 or so there was an announcement that the power most likely wouldnt come back until Saturday night and the advised us to go somewhere else...A lot of people went home and some people just were planning on staying with friends or here...Luckily the power came back on at about 5 on Friday...it was on for about an hour and right before I was going to do my hair, our building lost power AGAIN! The girls and I didnt want to sit in the dark so we went and got dinner in Watterson and then headed to Nick's to get our alcohol and then on our way back our power came back! It was an eventful weekend to say the least! Hopefully we wont have another power outage this year...We survived 3 blackouts! I love our dorm!
